• He practices architecture in Pune, India and is majorly known as CCBA ( Christopher Charles Benninger
Architects).
• Benninger is the 6th architect of India to won Golden Architect Award which known as Great Master Architect
Award of India.
• In 2001 he was also honoured for The Aga Khan Award For Architecture for his project of Mahindra United

• As the site is in mountainous region local available
materials are Stone, Mangalore tiles
• Which the stone are used for construction & the
mangalore tile used as roofing material.

• ‘Balance with Nature’ which means that CCBA like
to add some landscape element to his design.
• Like he had provided various open space for sitting ,
no. of ground for various activities.
• Charles Benninger has design all the classroom and
various room according to the people who are going to
utilize it or accommodate it like the Classroom with
major opening for natural ventilation While the
residential block close to each other.
4. Balance With Community
• Mahindra United schools is has also provided
ramps for the disabled people to approach each and
every corner of built site .
• This Shows the architect perspective of design
which is accessible for each and every person.
6.Appropriate Technology
• As CCBA used vernacular element in his design like
Stone and mangalore tiles.
• To construct such building the labour used for
construction were also from local village as has
better knowledge about the thing and construction.
