The Philippines 50 Years From Now

Throughout our history, the great turning points that have allowed us to achieve

national redemption and progress have been made possible by the collective efforts of

the Filipino people – at times, despite the worst efforts of our leaders. Some of you

may remember: Decades ago, our country was suffering from the cancer of tyranny

and oppression that characterized martial rule. Before that period, the Philippines was

always being compared to Japan – whether in terms of our economy, or even sports.

However, during martial law, our fate became dependent on the will and the

whims of a dictator who put himself ahead of all other considerations. Ultimately, it

was the Filipino people who came together to unshackle our country from the chains

of totalitarianism. We came together in peaceful revolt, in what would be known by

history as the People Power Revolution, and eventually overthrew the dictator. It was

the Filipino people who then raised my mother to the seat of power, and gave her the

confidence and the political capital to finally plant the seeds of recovery and return

democracy to the Philippines, after decades of corruption and neglect.

Philippine society features a special mix of differing qualities and homogeneity.

In spite of the fact that, considering nowadays, Philippines are going through a mess

in nearly each perspective. It is confronting an gigantic sum of issue such as

destitution, open transportation, the government framework, importation and

exportation, unfinished venture, and corruption. But, would Philippines be still like
this after 50 years? What would be Philippines be like in terms of its economic,

social, and political status?

Philippines is said to become an exceedingly created and developed country

within the next 50 years, as the economy is anticipated to proceed developing at

slightest 6% per year. By that, Philippines would have a higher GDP in 2071. But

still, these scenarios within the future will be possible if Philippines will conduct

major changes within the governance framework. The government ought to take

activity to extend the adequacy of administration and diminish its corruption.

Economic reforms should spend in infrastructure to make transportation a lot easier.

Addition to that, what I see after 50 years is that there are a lot of establishing

businesses where it encourages people to start their own ventures in all fields.

Moreover, there would be enhancements and needs on technologies, as well as

its improvements and innovation, which can make our agrarian segment to be more

beneficial. Philippines as far as its social change following 50 years, Filipinos may be

as more discipline than what we are today. Filipinos may eliminate its laid-back

demeanor, confine its impact of Catholicism, enabling its cutting edge thinking, and

will have more eagerness to take on the risks throughout everyday life. Filipinos may

likewise have open their eyes of helping the individuals who struggle to satisfy the

guidelines and standards of the current and modern culture. Filipinos will realize that

rebuffing them or feeling sorry for them would not be the response to the issue. Yet,

the control, conduct, and disposition towards them that makes Filipinos join together

and be the solution to that problem. We are aware, however, that inclusive growth

cannot be achieved simply by delivering to our people the services they rightfully

deserve. Government might actively find ways to create opportunities for the people.
What we vision for the Philippines following 50 years would be conceivable,

just on the off chance that we, along with the government, can pull off such economic,

social, and political changes. By that it couldn't just keep up with its financial

exhibition, however it could expand it. Philippines could be a high level country

following 50 years.
