ASSESSMENT NO. 4

Enumerate and describe the five dimensions involved in forming the human personality.

1. Physical Self – When we say physical self, it refers to our body that can be easily
examined and observed. It’s all about what kind of body we have. Physical self not
only focuses on how we look, this is also about how we nourish our self-image, self-
concept, and self-esteem.

2. Energy Self – Ability to manage or control our emotions and energy. By doing
proper exercises like yoga, prana is the source of all bodily movement. It controls all
of our conscious and unconscious bodily functions, including breathing, digestion,
blood flow, and healing.

3. Intellectual Self – Is the ability to apply logic, knowledge and understanding.

4. Mental Self - Means taking the time to do activities that will help us live a happy and
healthy life, both physically and mentally. It can help us cope with stress, reduce risk
of sickness, and boost our energy levels.

5. Anandamaya Kosha or Blissful Self – is a state of being happy and contended.

From your own perspective, which among the components of personality is the most
significant?
- For me, it's the ego or our conscious self. The ego is who we believe we are; it has the ability to
make decisions. The ego tries to satisfy both the needs of the id and superego.
