TASK DEPENDENCIES

This party has a few dependencies. First and foremost is the budget. The amount we are
able to spend will decided how big or small the party can be. Next, we will need to know how
many people are coming to the party. We need to be able to plan for the right number of
attendees. The weather is a big factor of the party. If the weather is bad, we will need to move
the party indoors. The outside resources (bouncy house rental company and the local bakery)
are important because if they fall through then we won’t have as many activities for the kids to
do during the party and we won’t have any dessert for the party. And the last task dependency
that I believe this party has are the project team members completing their assigned tasks.

CRITICAL PATH

There are a few tasks that I believe are critical to the success of this party. First, figuring
out the budget is important. We need to know how much money we have to spend. Once we
have determined the budget from there, we are able to actually start planning and working to
stay within the budget. Another critical task would be to call the bouncy house rental company
and the local bakery. The bouncy house is the only thing Calvin said he wanted, and we want to
contact them as soon as possible to lock in our rental. The local bakery is popular so the sooner
we call and place our order for the cookies the more likely they will be able to handle our order.
Purchasing all of the food, decorations, and supplies is also a very critical task. Without food we
would have a mutiny from the kids and parents. Decorations are important because they help
set the tone of the party, and the kids really like them. And the supplies (plates, utensils,
cleaning) are important because we need to be able to eat and clean up.
