200 m, and they were 16 m wide and 6 m
high. 135 standard TechSpan® units are
used for the main body of the tunnels, and
48 truncated units are used for the scal-
loped ends. The standard units are 2 m long
and 0.35 m thick and weigh 19.7 tonnes
each. Each rise of the arch comprised two
units which meet at the crown of the arch
in a special galvanised steel knuckle joint.
On average, 16 elements were placed every
10 hours, representing a tunnel length of 16
m.

The layout for the two tower buildings
is similar and is based on the architectural
concept used throughout the world today
for the construction of office tower build-
ings.
