Description Features
Description is a type of discursive technique that has been in
charge of revolutionizing in all kinds of fields due to its ability to
represent details through words. For this reason, this technique
has different characteristics, these are the following:
It is a discursive technical tool.
It serves to explain in detail every element that an object,
animal or thing comprises.
It allows you to easily know what you are talking about.
It is in charge of attending to a perceived, imagined or felt
reality.
When it is subjective, it presents feelings about psychic
elements.
When it is objective, it clearly presents what is observed
in reality.
Importance of description
The description is of vital importance, as it is a tool that helps
the explanation and understanding of any type of thing, animal,
object or person in all types of field. It is important to describe
well everything that you want to explain in detail through words,
because if this technique is not applied in the correct way, a
misunderstanding may develop and in this way the message sent
by the sender will leave a bad impression on the receiver.
Thanks to the description, various academic fields, such as
science and literature, have taken the liberty of correctly
explaining all the messages that they want to express through the
oral or written word.

The comparison-contrast structure is a technique that serves to
classify and sort all ideas gathered by means of various free opinion
procedures.

1. Present information about something that the reader does not know,
giving it to know through their similarities or differences in relation to
something that the reader does know. For example, to explain to
someone what it is a papaya, it can be compared to other fruits.
2. Present information about two entities that the reader is unaware of,
comparing them or contrasting them with something already known.
For instance,
To talk about two novels that the reader does not know, you can make
a comparison or contrast between the definition of an ideal novel and

or contrast of two entities that the reader already knows.
