Subject: Formal complaint against Mr. Satish – Driver cum Head Watchman
at Gokul Residency CHS

Respected Sir,

This is to bring to your urgent attention the atrocities faced by us, Mrs. Reshma
Fernandes and Mr. Alfred Fernandes residing at A-204 Gokul Residency CHSL, Bhausaheb Parab
Road, Kanderpada, Dahisar (W), Mumbai – 400 068 from Mr. Satish who is appointed as the driver
cum head watchman at the above-mentioned society.

At the outset, let me highlight that we have been forced to reach out to you for immediate
assistance citing the rude and unprofessional behaviour of Mr. Satish. Just to give you a quick
background, we recently relocated from Bangalore to our flat bearing A-204 last Apr-2019 and are
new members of this society. Since, we were based out of Bangalore earlier, we couldn’t purchase a
parking stilt at the society and ever since we have come to permanently stay here, our four-wheeler
has been parked at various parking slots by Mr. Satish at his own discretion and/or by orders given
by old committee members who influence decision making in the society.

As a noble citizen of this society, it has been experienced not only by us but by a large section of the
society that there are certain old committee members that are creating an ‘uncivilized’ atmosphere
within the society by provoking new members, instigating arguments and presiding over the smooth
functioning of the day-to-day affairs of the society. 

As per the bye-laws and housing manual, until the formation of the new committee, the driver cum
head watchman of the society appointed for daily chores - Mr. Satish needs to take orders from the
administrator only for the day-to-day smooth functioning of the society by ensuring the interest of
all members are taken into consideration. However, there has been continued efforts been made by
few old members of the previous managing committee to influence the day-to-day functioning of
the society and give marching orders in an ‘autocratic’ manner. Since this society is made of old and
new members; there are frequent altercations, disputes leading to dissonance within the society.

Mr. Satish has been taking decisions autocratically and parking our car from June 1 st 2020 in the
bottom stilt without our prior intimation. The car was earlier being parked in the compound for the
past 7-8 months and there were no issues being faced by us. When requested on why the car was
being parked at the bottom stilt, he stated that these are orders from the committee and asked us to
face some old committee members who forced their dictatorship upon us – considering we are new
members. Mr. Satish is not only “rude” but often speaks in the tone of a “goon” and is unapologetic
of his actions since he has complete backing of some old committee members.

Let me highlight to you Sir, that the bottom stilt is extremely hazardous to the cars and there have
been instances of rats and rodents eating up the bumpers of the cars (you can cross-verify the
same). There is no cleanliness being maintained by Mr. Satish and there are piles of debris and
rodents at the bottom stilt. In such a scenario, if tomorrow something happens to the car, who
would be taking responsibility? It is clearly mentioned in the bye-laws that the society should
provide proper and clean parking slots to the members of the society.

In a recent incident, on 13th June 2020, when we had some work and needed our car to be taken out,
he declined to receive our calls nor was replying to our messages sent. When we confronted him on
14th June, he told us that the car will only be removed if it’s an “emergency” situation.
Sir, this is a complete “mockery” of the way a driver cum head watchman speaks to the members
and intimidates them to an extent which is unbearable and uncivilized to say the least. Firstly, we
believe he cannot deny to remove our own car from the parking stilt when we request him. It seems
the car belongs to him and so the society.

Sir, he has also threatened us indirectly by saying on record that if these old committee members
come back to reign, they will ensure our car is removed out of the society. This is the confidence he
exudes when speaking with us and this can only be possible due to the backing and planning of old
committee members whose instructions he follows.

Further, our car was being washed daily until 1 st June 2020 by the watchman and we were paying Rs.
500 p.m. for the washing. Ever since 1 st June, Mr. Satish has not carried out the daily washing of the
car and when questioned, he states that I cannot remove the car daily from the bottom stilt as it
consumes electricity. He is often seen giving illogical reasoning and shies away when confronted. He
has also influenced the watchmen’s in the society and they don’t follow any instructions until it
comes from Mr. Satish himself. Such is the situation today that no one even dares to question the
immorality and utter autocratic decisions made by Mr. Satish and/or the few old members of the
previous committee. 

As a responsible citizen and member of the society, we humbly request you Sir to look in to this
matter and find a noble replacement of Mr. Satish at the earliest. Until a new committee is formed,
this society needs an individual who is not only humble and civilized but is unbiased and takes orders
from the administrator and no one else.
