Introduction
 Introduction to the system:
Going to cinemas and events has been the culture of almost all the
families of today’s generation. It is a time when the family can spend
some time altogether by stealing some hours from their busy schedule.
Cinemas and events help in contributing in our daily memories as they
provide an essential part of our culture.
Right now, many of the cinemas use computer-based applications, but
still there are exceptions that still go by the traditional paper ticketing
method as they find it too complicated to implement the online
systems to their business.
A lot of information is to be maintained and have to be kept in mind
while running the business. The existing system is quite laborious as
one has to enter same information at three different places.

Scope of the system:

The Project has a wide scope as it is generalized software and can be
easily used in any ticket booking process system with little or no
change. The Changes in software can be easily accommodated. The
addition and deletion of the modules in software can be easily
adjusted.
Proposed System:
The project online films and event ticket booking is a web-based
application that allows the film theatre owner or event organizer and
the viewers to handle all the cinema activities online quickly and safely.
Using Interactive GUI anyone can quickly learn to use the complete
system.
Using this system, the owner doesn’t have to sit and manage the entire
activities on paper. And at the same time, Owner will feel comfortable
to keep a check on the cinema. This System will give them power and
flexibility to manage the entire system from a single online portal.
Online films and event ticket booking reservation provides ticket
booking for the film, events, seat management, ticket cancellation and
payment services. The system will be so simple and attractive which will
make the audiences/viewers comfortable to use and choose their film
or event along with desired seat number and seat position.
The system will allow the Owner to check the Progress of ticket
reservation from interactive Graphs. The system will allow the owner to
keep track on available seats for a particular film and even maintain
various details of the audiences.
Viewers can view the films and events which are being shown in the
theatre or the ones which are going to be released or the events that
are going to be held for a short while along with their show timings and
also book the tickets online through online payments using various
payment gateways like ATM/Credit/Debit cards.

Analysis
 Fact finding techniques:
 Interviews

For gaining insight into the activities involved in day-to-day working of the
Cinema/Events and also to get a review from the employees working there of
the system their Theatre was already using, I was able to interview one of the
employees from the local Cinema.

 Observations

To experience the system first hand, already in use at the local Cinema and to
get an overall idea of the flow of the processes, I visited one of the local
Cinema and noted down any important observations about the system and
processes necessary for development of this project.

 Background Reading

Due to availability of many management related and some Cinema/Event

related software and their documentation on the internet, it helped to get
information and insight for the project.

 Sampling

For the purpose of gaining insight into what information goes into forms,
applications etc. for the Cinema to process them, samples of application
forms, receipts, bills etc. were collected.

Feasibility Study

1. Financial Feasibility –
Other than basic requirement of operating system for software
development being Microsoft windows, only other requirements are a
browser,MySqli and an internet connection all of which are readily
 available at the development environment and if not already available in
the production environment can be made available at relatively low cost,
implying that the system is financially feasible.

2. Technical Feasibility –
During the design and early analysis phase of the project in one of the
fact finding technique i.e. observation, It became evident that majority
of the Cinemas were using Microsoft Windows as their organization
wide operating system which solves both the problem of operating
system requirement and MySqli, and makes this project compatible
with their system out of the box, implying that that the system is
technically feasible.

Some of the advantages of the Online Film and Event Booking Portal over
existing system or manual systems are –
o Online booking systems save your staff time.
o Removing the bottleneck of phone booking systems.
o Greater sales and marketing synergy.
o A modern approach to booking.
o Increased revenue thanks to upselling.

Some of the limitations of the system are –

o You need internet access.
o Not all online booking systems are created equal.
o It could cost more.
 Future
Enhancements
It can be summarized that the future scope of the project circles around
maintaining information regarding:
 We can provide more advanced software for film and event
ticket booking including more facilities.
 We can host the platform on online servers to make it
accessible worldwide.
 Integrate multiple load balancers to distribute the loads of the
system.
 Create a master and slave database structure to reduce the
overload of the database queries.
 Implement the backup mechanism for taking backups of
codebase and database on regular basis on different servers.
 Movie recommendations, Standard health verifications.
