As a facilitator, you are expected to orient the learners on how to
use this module. You also need to keep track of the learners' progress
while allowing them to manage their own learning at home.
Furthermore, you are expected to encourage and assist the learners as
they do the tasks included in the module.

For the learner:


As a learner, you must learn to become responsible of your own
learning. Take time to read, understand, and perform the different
activities in the module.
As you go through the different activities of this module be
reminded of the following:
1. Use the module with care. Do not put unnecessary mark/s on any
part of the module. Use a separate sheet of paper in answering the

Hello! I am sure you are very excited to learn our lesson in Module 1 on P.E

(Physical Education) about the execution of different skills in Agawan Panyo game. I

am expecting your interest in learning the things I will be sharing to you.

This day will be full of fun and learning as our topics in this module helps you

develops your skills in moving fast and quick, to be strong, to keeps your body in

balance and use your senses and other body parts to do an activity as well as

responds to situations easily which are part of doing daily activities to be active and

healthy. You will also find important ideas in the next lessons. Enjoy doing the

Specifically, the lesson seeks to achieve the following:

1. The players are divided into two teams with equal number.

2. Two similar lines are drawn with equal distance among two teams.

3. A referee is chosen and extends his hand forward while holding a

handkerchief.

Nature/Background of Agawan Panyo Game and Its Different Skills

Agawan Panyo – is a traditional game played by two teams of equal number or

players trying to grab or snatch the handkerchief without tagging by the opponent of

other team.

Steps on how to play Agawan Panyo game:

1. The players are divided into two teams with equal numbers.

2. A referee is chosen and extends his hand forward while holding a handkerchief.

3. Two parallel lines are drawn with equal distance among two teams.

4. The referee will assign a number to the players of each team.

5. One player must grab the handkerchief from the referee without being tagged by

the opponent.

6. If the opponent is tagged, the team does not get a score.

7. If the opponent successfully returned to his line without being tagged, the team

scores a point.

Skills Developed in Agawan Panyo Game

1. Agility – it is the ability of our body to control and move quickly at any direction.

2. Balance – refers to your ability hold on and keep the body in a stable position while

standing steady or moving.

3. Coordination – it means your ability to manage the use of both senses and other

parts of the body to perform any physical activity.

4. Power – it focuses on the ability of your body to move fast with extreme energy of

muscles. It is a combined skill of quickness and strong muscles.

5. Reaction time – it refers to how fast your brain immediately reacts to any object

or activity using your senses.

6. Speed – it focuses our ability to do continuous physical activity faster than normal.

1. Agawan Panyo is a game played by two teams of equal number of members.

The main goal of this game is to grab the handkerchief without being tagged by

the opponent of other team.

2. The skill components in playing any game are agility, balance, coordination,

power, reaction time and speed.

3. Agility is the ability of our body to move quickly.

4. Balance is the ability of our body to in a stable position while we stand or move.

5. Coordination is our ability to use the senses and other body parts to do an

activity.

6. Power means your ability to move quickly using your maximum energy.

7. Reaction time is our ability to react quickly to what see, hear and feel around

us.

8. Speed refers to your ability to move as fast as you can.
