Explain Emotional Intelligence & their types and how do you differentiate IQ level and EQ level?

ANSWER
Understanding and having control over one’s emotions is undoubtedly essential for an adequate social
life but it is not enough. Apart from being able to understand, evaluate, and express our own emotions,
perceiving, understanding, and evaluating the emotions of other individuals, and responding
appropriately, is equally important if not more important. This is known as emotional intelligence. It is

Is emotional intelligence nature or nurture? Some argue it can be developed while others argue people
are born with it. However, everyone agrees that it is essential and important.

1.1 TYPES/COMPONENTS OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE


There are four types of emotional Intelligence

1.1.1 Self-Awareness
Self-awareness is important. To be self-aware is to know what are your feelings, emotions, ambitions, and
what the driving force behind them is. Fundamentally it is the understanding of our moods and emotions.
Self-awareness helps sustain behavior over time.

1.1.2 Self-Management
You may run into someone who is irritating, it might be client, or a friend. Controlling your mood in such
situations and not lashing out is self-management. Self-Management helps to develop emotional restraint
and inhibits impulsive behavior. It teaches us to be positive, to let things go, and to think before acting.

1.1.3 Social Awareness


Social awareness refers to the ability to hear and understand social queues. Not everything is spoken, and
understanding these unspoken feelings and thoughts is social awareness. It is the ability to read between
the lines. Listen to what people say and observe their expressions. Strive to understand what people are
looking for. Listen more, talk less.

1.1.4 Relationship Management


Relationship management is the application of emotional intelligence in our dealing with others be it
family, friends, etc. This is where emotional intelligence becomes most visible to the people we deal with.
It helps in relationship development.

1.2 EQ V/S IQ
1.2.1 IQ (Intelligence Quotient)
IQ is the standard measure of human intelligence, human abilities and their knowledge. IQ level is mostly
calculated by a standard scale called “SBI scale”. IQ is still widely recognized as an important element of
success especially in academic achievement. People with high IQ levels typically do well in academically,
earn more money, and tend to live healthier lives.

1.2.2 EQ (Emotional Quotient)


Emotional quotient is the measure of a person’s level of emotional intelligence. It is important to observe,
understand, evaluate, and respond to other people’s feelings and emotions. IQ on its own is not enough.
EQ also matters. Generally, psychologists agree that among of all the successes IQ counts to 10-25% and
the rest depend on EQ.

Convincing others using facts. Convincing others with reason.
Book smart. Heart smart.
Gets you through school. Gets you through life.
Hard workers. Smart workers.
Being at the mercy of Emotions because you Understand and manage emotions and use them
don’t understand them. for good reason.

Explain Personal Growth and some basic points of personal growth?

ANSWER
Personal growth is essentially understanding oneself and pushing oneself to the highest possible position.
Ask yourself who you are becoming and how you plan to develop yourself. Personal growth can involve
developing new habits, fostering new skills, and strategizing to achieve goals. The process of personal
growth is perpetual and it starts your career. It radiates outwards and touches every aspect of your
personal and professional life. In short:

“Personal growth refers broadly to a subset of personality development that relates to


the process of becoming better in a positive way.”

One can achieve personal growth by grooming oneself, developing good habits, exercising, and doing
given work in given time. Leaving work for the eleventh hour hinders personal growth.

1.3 BASIC POINTS OF PERSONAL GROWTH


There are some basic points of personal growth which you can learn daily.

 Learnings to control anger


 Learning to overcome laziness
 Learning to be more polite
 Becoming a more responsible person
 Learning new things and developing new skills
 Changing your mind set.

Successful personal growth requires motivation, the desire to improve and willingness to strive to make
changes. You also need to be willing to get out of your comfort zone and sometime do things that are
uncomfortable. PG starts from an early age mostly shaped by parents, teachers and the environment.

However, to make most of it you need to become aware of the processes and take the right steps to grow
and improve your self

1.4 ASPECTS OF PERSONAL GROWTH


Personal growth has 3 aspects:

1.4.1 Spiritual
Personal growth has one belief that humans are unique because they possess spiritual power. This
differentiates us from other beings and thus one should focus on this aspect when pursuing personal
growth

1.4.2 Physical
A healthy body fosters a healthy mind, Treat your body like a temple. Think naturally and positively.
Activities like yoga and meditation are helpful for this aspect.

1.4.3 Mental
To be mentally strong requires stretching your mind by developing good thinking habits, studying, and
reading, pursuing ideas, and trying to find ways to apply them and embodying them in daily life
