Interview with Local Super-market

During our Interview with the local super-market, we learned about their food-waste policy and how
the industry of food trade works. These were the questions we asked them-

Q.1 Does the supermarket have a food waste policy?

Answer- Their answer to this was no, they do not have food waste policy. This is because the scale of
food wastage in their store was very low. If ever they came across a food item that was going to reach
its expiration they would simply put it with the discounted items or donate it to the needy.

Q.2 What in your opinion, does the supermarket do really well in the terms of food waste management?

Answer- They said that before ordering food items that wouldn’t sell often they would take orders from
their regular customers , and only if someone would place an order for it would get it shipped
