Proposal

Rationale

In previous units I have learnt many new skills however I have also developed on skills that I
had already acquired the knowledge of. The Be Creative unit (9&10) gave me a lot of skills to
understand and include. In this unit, I had to create a short film whilst also making a stop
motion. This made me realise that I have to manage my time well otherwise I will fall behind
my work schedule or miss out on work that needs to be completed. At the start of this
course, I had very little knowledge of skills, however I know am more experienced and have
learnt many new skills to include in my productions. For my FMP, I am going to be focusing
on all skills that I have learnt but more on the editing part of it to ensure that it all links up
and all the effects make it easier for the audience to follow and to add emotion to my
production.

Project Concept

My production is going to be a short drama film which will be a house party involving a
group of friends. A drinking game is suggested by one of the friends however after this
happens, 2 of the friends start having an argument and leads to a physical, aggressive fight
with one of them dying at the end of it. The whole of the friend group knows about but
make a promise to not tell anyone.
When doing research for my short drama film, I am going to look into how the film has
created emotion for the audience to feel. I will also look into how the editor makes the film
unique and interesting by adding certain techniques to intrigue watchers.
My main focus for this unit will be the editing part to ensure that it makes sense and
interests the target audience. I am also focusing on this aspect to help adapt my skills and
take time to experiment with different skills to include into my own production.

Evaluation

Over these weeks of doing my FMP, I will assess by doing weekly blogs which will state what
I have done on each week and will explain what I struggled most with. I will also do my
production schedule which is a will be a working document and will explain what I did each
day of the week. These will both help me to keep on track with my work and make me
aware of what I am missing and need to complete to get the grade that I wish to achieve.
