LOGO

The idea of going with a monk logo came and so we have gone with the details that are how it
looked.

The logo consists of our group name which is Novenary Monks indicating the identity of group 9
and a monk in a saffron gown indicating purity, purity in our ideas, purity in doing things in our
style. The monk is standing in a fighting pose but he is smiling which indicates that he is calm
even during the state of distress.

The font ‘Market Felt’ signifies our belief in simplicity. The tripundra on the forehead, which is 3
horizontal lines in white tilak is a symbol during rites of passage and for daily practices. These 3
lines represent Shiva’s three-fold power of will. The ‘tri’ in tripundra signifies triguna - satva raja
and tama. The left-hand showcases a symbol which is the symbol of power for the monk that also
reflects the number 9. It symbolically represents a culmination of wisdom and experience and
buzzes with the energy of both endings and new beginnings.

The color blue with the symbol 9 on the left hand signifies the color of the sky and the sea. It can
be calm when it is not triggered like a sky on a sunny day or a calm sea but in case of a storm, it
doesn’t hold itself back and fights till it devours whoever stands in its way. The color black
represents strength, power, and authority. It is a formal, elegant and prestigious color. The color
black affects the mind and the body to create an inconspicuous feeling and boosts confidence in
appearance thus it increases the sense of potential. The background is kept white to balance
black and symbolizes the yin and yang, nature of duality.

Novenary Monks:

We being Group 9, wanted to include some significance of the group number in the name. Hence,
we tried the representation of number ‘9’ (Nine) in different languages, “nav”, “novet”, “novem”,
”nove”, ”nueve”,etc., came into the picture thus selecting Novenary as the foundation part of
our name. The word monk finds its origin in old English words ‘munuc’, which signifies solidarity.
Monks are a set of people who are members of a community typically enjoying a simple and
disciplined life.

Novenary monks thus signify our intentions of moving at an arcadian pace and letting our work
speak for itself.

Move Away, Monk’s Way!

We believe and follow in the serene glow of the fact that as a monk remains focused on his pious
journey of the self, as a group we want to set an example of moving forward without the
distractions which may come forth in our E- Udbhav journey.
