Writing a Narrative
Writing Narratives from Experience Something similar
happened to me
once...
An old piece of advice that is
often given to writers is to “write
about what you know”. One way
of writing about what you know is
to write a memoir or an
autobiographical sketch. Both are
stories about something that
happened to you, told from your
point of view (first person).
DIRECTIONS: On the lines
provided, write about something
that happened to you recently.
What was it? How did it make
you feel? What were the results?
Use the back of this sheet if you
need more room.
