Proposal for UAL FMP Project

From the beginning of this entire project to now I have learnt and progressed my skills in organisation, presentation,
most importantly my quality of work. I have learnt how to use editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro to an
extensive level. I have implemented these newly learnt editing skills in some of my own personal projects as well as
assisting others in their own work. I have also learnt how to quickly organise a team for an exercise such as filming or
scouting for locations. This has not only helped me in my studies and my work, but for personal things such as my job,
activities I want to do with my friends and things in my spare time such as going out somewhere (to the gym etc). The
skills I have learnt in this project have been extremely valuable to me in not only my college work but also my personal
life and I will take them onwards with me throughout my future studies and career.

For my final project, I will be producing a factual film documenting the history of the British Racing circuit Silverstone. I
will be going through the entire history of the circuit and focus in on specific drivers and constructors that have become
iconic staples of modern motorsport through competing on the circuit. To assist in achieving this, I will incorporate my
primary and secondary research. For my primary research, I plan on interviewing a few people on their knowledge of
Silverstone and asking them what specific aspects of the circuit’s history they would like to see focused on in my factual
programme. I will also send out surveys to people in my age demographic of young adults aged 18-21 years old. Most
importantly I will be contacting and attempting to connect to famous and significant individuals not just in Silverstone’s
history but in motorsport as a whole to give their own insight and personal experiences at the circuit. I will also look at
specific infamous races in the history of the circuit and ask various people who were there about their experience at the
races. Overall I plan to put together a complete documentation of the circuit and highlight the most famous parts of its
long and illustrious history. I will book and use time in the studio to record voiceover commentary for the documentary,
this will be used when either B-roll is being played or when the 10% found footage is on screen.

I will reflect on my work and give constant feedback by documenting the journey through my weekly blogs. I will
showcase the evolution of certain things I am working on a week to week basis and describe what has gone well and
what still needs to be improved on. I will include screenshots of my work and compare it the previous week to
showcase the constant improvements being made to the work. I will record drastic decisions by writing on the date I
decided to make them and put it under a weekly blog. I will explain my thought process throughout and why I did
certain things. I will note when I am collaborating with other people and explain how it either positively or negatively
impacted my project as well.
