 1. What’s Alkylation

• Alkylation is a conversion processes that combine light olefins

(primarily propylene and butylene) with isobutene in the
presence of a strong acid catalyst, either sulfuric acid or
hydrofluoric acid

was also obtained alkylbenzenes with high octane
 Feedstock

 Olefin: propylene, butylene.

 Butylene: from dehydrogenation butane

 Iso-butane: from C4s fraction of FCC
