PERCENTAGE PURITY OF HYDROGEN PEROXIDE

(H2O2) Mol.W 34 (Eqv.w 17)

Principle:
Acid-Base Titration( Use Eqv.W for calculation formula )

Chemicals Required:

 H2O2
 KMNO4 0.1N
 H2SO4

Procedure:

 Make the 1% Solution of H2O2, & take the 10 ml from this

solution in Titration Flask.
 Add 10ml of 10% H2SO4
 Titrate it against 0.1 N KMNO4 till the end point.
 Note the volume of KMNO4 used and make calculations.

Calculations:

% age purity = BR x N x M
Wt. of Sample
For Example: 29.3 *0.1*17= 49.81%
Where,

V= Volume of KMNO4 used

N= Normality of KMNO4

M= Mol.Wt of H2O2
