1. Purpose
The Farnsworth-Munsell 100-Hue Test is a test that measures the ability of a personal to
discriminate hues.
2. Scope
This procedure is applicable to all employees of QA Lab involve in color assessment related activity
of quality co0ntrol i.e. grading of color change/staining/shade grouping.
4. Procedure
a) Open one case and arrange the caps in random order
b) Instruct the technician being tested as below:
c) To arrange the caps in order according to color and place them so they form a regular color
series between the two end caps (indicate)
d) It should take you about two minutes per panel (Total 08 min for 04 cases) However,
accuracy is more important than speed so you will be told when the two minutes are up but
the panel will not be taken away from him/her.
e) To Allow the person as long as necessary to arrange the caps in an order with which they are
satisfied.
f) If two minutes have passed, and the technician is not through, quietly remind them that two
minutes are up, and allow more time to finish the task.
g) This test is conducted on quarterly basis, of every technician involved.
h) Enter the findings into Munsell Hue Test.
Criteria of the test:
≤16 Superior (Pass) ≤30 Good (Pass)
