Hazard Mapping

Brgy. Sta. Ana 100 Year Flood Hazard Map

Guide Question:
1.) Hazard map helps us to inform the arias that are crucial to
calamity. Having knowledge to hazard map is an important thing
because it makes us ready in case of disaster that may occur in our
areas.
2.) Yes, our barangay has hazard map but I don’t think so that
most people who live this barangay are knowledgeable regarding to
the hazard map to our areas. I say this because I just discovered our
hazard map when it was required to us for NSTP. But in case the
 people want to know about the hazard map to our barangay, people
are free to ask for it to our barangay’s facility.

3.) I think our ancestors identify the possible disasters in their

community based on their experience, wherein, if that areas are
capable to flashfloods, they will have knowledge that area is
dangerous for them and should be always ready in case the disaster
might happen in that area. But, since our ancestor only based on their
experience, there are many people who were died and went missing
because of not having too much knowledge regarding to the hazard
to their areas. Today, with the help of the modern technology, I think
many people are getting saved because the disasters that are
possible to occur are monitored, wherein, people in the target areas
are getting informed much early, through social media platform, for
them to get ready and evacuate from their areas and were put to the
evacuation center.
