Learning Objectives:
Pupils will be taught to understand multiplication as repeated addition. (2, 3, 4 and 5
timetables).

Learning outcomes:
Pupils will be able to:
i. Recognise multiplication as repeated addition.

ii. Write number sentences for multiplication.

iii. Answer 7 out of 10 questions correctly.

Observation and pupils work

Previous Knowledge:
Pupils had learned addition during Year 1 and Year 2.

Helping each other (co-operate) and toleration.

(5 minutes) 1. Teacher will begin a lesson by giving a situation to students.

Development 1. Then, teacher introduce today’s topic;

- “Multiplication is a repeated addition.”
2. Teacher shows how to get answer for the question earlier by
telling them;
- “Again, how many of your friends are here?”
- “Then, how many books do they have?”
- “To count all books that your friend have, you can count by
ones”
- “How do we write it?”
1+1+1+1=4

- “First, we count how many groups that we have.”


- “So, we have how many groups?”
- “Then we count how many eyes each one of them have.”
- “So, we have;
2+2+2+2=8
4 twos = 8
4 x 2=8

- “This time, we have 4 cups, so there are 4 groups”
- “Each cup has 3 straws, so we have 4 threes.”
- “What are we going to write?”
3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 12
4 threes = 12
4 x 3 = 12

Closure Skills:
(5 minutes) 1. Teacher conclude today lesson by asking students what Revising
1025 – 1030 they had learned. Look back.
2. Teacher then shows another example;
“Teacher has 3 cups. Then teacher puts 4 straws inside the
cup.”

3. Teacher gives homework to students. (page 81 – 82)
