1. What are the differences between Production Management and Operations Management?
Production Management is focused on the production of goods and services, it
includes all activities such as organizing, planning, directing, and controlling the process
of production, in order to provide the needs and wants of people. While Operations
Management entails tasks like monitoring, techniques, designing a layout, and structuring
business processes. It’s also involved with the production and delivery of goods and
services.

2. List the objectives to be fulfilled by an Operation System.


 To produce the required quantity.
 To meet the delivery time.
 Economical way of doing.
 To achieve the required quantity.

3. What is a PERT-CPM?
PERT is also known as Program (Project) Evaluation and Review Technique. It
is a project management approach and a technique of planning and control of time for
managing project activities that are unpredictable. Critical Path Method or CPM is an
algorithm for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and controlling project operations. The
earliest and latest probable start times for each activity are calculated using CPM.

4. What is the goal of operation management?


The purpose of operations management is to optimize efficiency while providing
goods and services that meet client demands effectively. It is concerned with effectively
transforming materials and labor into goods and services in order to maximize an
organization's profit.

5. What is the primary function of an operations manager?


Operations managers are in charge of monitoring activities related to the
production of goods and services. Their immediate responsibilities include managing
both the operations process and the operations strategy, which includes design, planning,
control, and performance improvement.
