Discuss the differences between using online streaming services (Netflix, VIU, Amazon,

Youtube) and going to the cinema. You should write at about 350 words.

Who dislike movies? Almost all of us like but it depends on the aspects that you

like to watch a movie. With the rapid development of technology, movies can be

watched by going to the cinema or using online streaming services. There are three

main differences, which are time, movie choices and cost.

First and foremost, the difference between watching movies in cinema and using

online streaming services is time. According to Florence Gutierrez's (2020).”You are

free to specify the time to watch the movie using online streaming services as it can

be watched anywhere at your convenience. In contrast, you need to be at the cinema

ealier than the show time so that you do not miss any action in the movie.

Furthermore, you can only sit on the seat until the movie end and this sometimes will

make you uncomfortable.

Secondly, the difference is movie choices. "You can watch multiple movies in

multiple languages when using online streaming services", said Florence (2020). You

also can watch unlimited content regardless to the age. Unlike movies shown in

cinemas which is usually consist of two languages which are the movies language and
the subtitle. Some movies also have an age limit such as horror movies can only be

watched by viewers aged 18 and above.

Last but not least, the difference is cost.You only have to pay once either monthly

or annually to watch as many movies as you want when using online streaming

services. However, according to analysis made by Rhys Jones (2020). “It is quite

expensive when watching movies at the cinema because you have to pay every time

you watch a movie”. It is not a good option for a movie lover.

In conclusion, watching a movie by going to the cinema or using online streaming

services has their own pros and cons. These three factors can be as a guideline for

people who love watching movies to choose the best way that will benefit them.

However, it is all about you. You choose how to enjoy your favourite movies at your

own.
