1.0 Introduction:

Jute drawing frame is important for jute textile industries. The main purpose of jute draw frame
is to straighten of fibers in the sliver and to parallelization of the fibers in the sliver. In addition
to reduce the weight per unit length of sliver is also the main task of jute drawing frame. Thick
and thin place is to abate of jute drawing frame.

2.0 Objective:

The objectives of this experiment are given below :

 To know about the jute draw frame

 To learn about the purpose of jute draw frame
 To gather knowledge of jute draw frame function
 To know about push bar type draw frame
 To know the main parts of jute draw frame

4.0 Machine parts:

5.0 Machine description:

Push bar draw frame has :

 Faller drops up to 850 drops/min

 Faller bar lead over retaining rollers 4-10
 No sound while running
 Tends to clog with dirt
 In modern type machine , pinning is good
 Laps occasionally, specially with light slivers
 No of head -2
 No of sliver feed/head -4
 No of delivery /head -2
 Doubling ratio - 2:1
 Faller bar pitch- ½”
 Production /hour/machine – 600-650 Ibs

6.0 Material Passage of the Machine:

The machine can be roll-fed. For the roll feeding a roller feeder (fluted feed roller) is necessary.
Again the delivery may be taken in roll form by a roll-former at the delivery end. The sliver feed
end pass side by side over the feed plate and then under the back retaining roller, over the slip

roller and again under the front retaining roller. The slivers then pass over the moving gills being
penetrated in their pins at the centre. After necessary drafting the slivers pass between the
drawing and drawing pressing rollers to the doubling plate. Here the slivers are grouped in equal
numbers for doubling. Then they are passed through a pair of delivery rollers and at last
collected in roll former by a roller former.

7.0 Main function of draw frame:

Drawing : The regular and uniform elongation of the sliver is called drawing . Drawing takes
place between retaining roller & drawing roller .

Doubling : To produce one sliver from two or more sliver is called doubling . It is done by
doubling plate .

Drafting : Ratio of the surface speed of deliver (drawing) roller & feed (retaining) roller is called
drafting .

8.0 Calculation:

 Surface speed of back retaining roller = 409.98 inch/min

 Surface speed of drawing roller =1518.43inch/min.
 Surface speed of delivery roller = 1555.47 inch/min.
 Faller drops/min = faller bar rpm teeth of faller carrier sprocket.= 937.1 drops/min.
 Faller bar surface speed= faller drops/min* pitch of faller = 937.1

9.0 Result:

 Surface speed of back retaining roller = 409.98 inch/min

 Surface speed of drawing roller = 1518.43 inch/min.
 Surface speed of delivery roller = 1555.47 inch/min.
 Faller drops/min = 937.1 drops/min.
 Faller bar surface speed = 468.54 inch/min.
 Draft = 3.8
 Draft constant =140.38

 Faller lead% = 14.3%

10.0 Conclusion:

From this experiment, we have learnt many knowledge . We have gained knowledge about jute
draw frame specially push bar type draw frame. Different parts of this machine have been
known. In addition to we have explained about the main function of jute draw frame. Some
objectives of jute draw frame as well as some data about push bar draw frame have been gained
as possible as we can.
