NARRATOR: Maayong hapon, Abiders!
Ubani mi sa pagsubay sa kinabuhi sa usa ka
Kristohanon, sa dihang muatubang siya ug
mga pagpili, nga maong mosuway sa
iyahang pagtoo diha sa Ginoo.

JOREL enters the stage wearing toga.
JOREL: Finally! Salamat kaayo Lord,
nahuman jud ko sa college! Di nako ni
mahimo tanan ug kung wala ka. Lord,
daghan kaayo ko’g plano sa akong kinabuhi.
Ganahan ko nga mangita’g trabaho, asawa,
ug, Lord, ganahan ko nga mahatagan pod
nako’g nindot nga kinabuhi ang akong
future nga anak. Ganahan ko nga i-apply
nako tong na-learn nako sa program sa
Azariah nga magprepare ahead of time.
Pero Lord, nahimo nako nga mahuman sa
pagskwela kay giubanan ko Nimo. Busa

ACT 2 – NEXT DAY
JOREL enters the stage without toga.
Phone rings
JOREL: Hello?
JAMES (Voice-over): Good afternoon, is this
Jorel Buenavidez?
JOREL: Yes, speaking. Kinsa ni palihog?
JAMES: Ah, ako diay si Mr. Salvacion, the
manager in XYZ Company. I’ve read through
your resume and credentials. We find that
your records present the qualities about
you that we’ve been looking for. We would
like to hear more about you so we invite
you for your final interview. Will you be
available tomorrow at 1 pm?
JOREL: Y-yes, Mr. Salvacion. I’ll be right
there tomorrow at 1 pm.
JAMES: Sounds great! So, see you at 1 pm
here in 4th floor of XYZ company.
JOREL: Thank you very much, Mr. Salvacion.
JAMES: You’re welcome. Have a great day.
JOREL: You too, sir!

JOREL: Yes!! Thank You, Lord! Naka-abot

ACT 3 – WORKING
JOREL is already in the scene, working with
loads of paperwork.
NARRATOR: Nadawat si Jorel sa kompanya
ug faithful siya nga nanrabaho didto. 5
years later, matahumon ug malinawon nga
na-minyo si Jorel sa usa ka babaye nga
naa’y kahadlok sa Ginoo. Ug faithful
gihapon siya nga nagtrabaho sa XYZ
Company.
Phone rings
JOREL: Hello, hon?
CATHERINE (voice-over): Hon, what time ka
mouli later? Ari ka magdinner?
JOREL: Dili lang siguro hon. Rest lang early
diha. Basin late ko makauli kay daghan
kaayo kog paper works karon.
CATHERINE: Sige hon ha? In case if
gutumon gihapon ka nig uli, magready lang
gihapon ko ug food. Ako lang ibutang sa ref.
JOREL: Sige, thank you hon.
Phone call drops.
While JOREL is working, MAPIEN and
ELAIJAH enter the stage, bringing coffee
cups, secretly talking about JOREL.
MAPIEN: Unsa’y flavor ana imong kape,
girl?
ELAIJAH: This is *Frappuccino.
MAPIEN: Char. Ka-laysho gud nato run girl.
Much money lagi ka ron bisag next week pa
atong sweldo?
ELAIJAH: Ayg saba girl. C.A ra bitaw ni.
MAPIEN: Luh, kuyawa gud nimo?
ELAIJAH: Girl, awa ragud! Naning kaayo
nang usa diha oh! Bisa’g unsa ka stressful
ang atong trabaho, ga-ngisi raman gihapon
siya nga nagwork.
MAPIEN: Ay mura man sad ka’g “just now”
anang Jorel, girl oy! Sukad pa na nga na-hire
siya diri, naning naman gyud na siya sa
iyang trabaho!
ELAIJAH: Bitaw sa? Wa gud ko kita niya nga
nag coffee break.
MAPIEN: Awa na puhon girl.. pustahanay pa
ta! Ma-promote na siya.
ELAIJAH: Sige sige. Kung sayop ka, librehan
ko nimo ug kape ha sa starbucks.
MAPIEN: Sige ba!
ELAIJAH: Bantay lagi!
MAPIEN and ELAIJAH exit. JASON enters
going to JOREL.
JASON: Excuse me, sir Jorel.
JOREL: Good afternoon, sir Jason!
JASON: Gipatawag diay ka ni Mr. Salvacion
didto sa iyang office.
JOREL: Ah, sige salamat.
JASON and JOREL exit.
ACT 4 – MANAGER’S OFFICE
JAMES is already in the stage, facing on the
wall, making his coffee.
JASON and JOREL enter the stage.
JASON: Good afternoon, Mr. Salvacion. Naa
na si Sir Jorel.
JAMES faces the characters.
JAMES: O sige. Salamat, sir Jason. Pwede
naka mu-balik sa imong table.
JASON exits.
JOREL: Good afternoon, sir. Ngano
gipatawag ko nimo, sir? Naa ko’y penalty?
JAMES: Ah, wala man hinoon. For 5 years
you’ve been working in my department in
XYZ company, so far wala ko’y nakita nga
bati sa imong performance. In fact, you’re
always the star employee in the
department.
JOREL: Praise God, sir.
JAMES: This is why I called you into my
office to offer you a big deal. This will give
you the opportunity for a raised salary.
JOREL: Mao ba, sir? May I know the details
of the offer, sir?
JAMES: Excited gyud ka, sa? Hehe. Okay, let

Gives a paper to JOREL.
JOREL: I didn’t know nga naa pa diay laing
account ang company, sir.
JAMES: Actually, it’s not from the company.
It’s.. *clears throat* our dummy account.
JOREL: Dummy account? Para asa diay ning
dummy account, sir?
JAMES: Don’t worry about that one, Mr.
Buenavidez. You will still have your share sa
20%, only when you perform this special
task correctly and neatly.
JOREL: Uhm, sir, I think…
JAMES: Don’t decide just now. I’ll give you
one day to think about it. Sayang kaayo ang
opportunity. Raised salary. Let me specify
this one: the raise will be the double of your
salary.
JOREL: Sir, I admit that the salary raise is
promising, pero sir..
JAMES: Let me cut you at that one, Mr.
Buenavidez. Again, don’t rush in making
your decision. I’ll give you one day to think
about it, and tomorrow, anytime tomorrow,
you can come here into my office and let
me know your answer.
JOREL: Okay, Mr. Salvacion. Thank you so

overthinking. He sits down on the couch.

Mr. Salvacion. Pero, Lord, dili pod ko
ganahan nga mawad-an ug trabaho.

ang akong buhaton.
JOREL opens his Bible.
JOREL: reading. Trust in the Lord with all
thine heart; and lean not unto thine own
understanding. Be not wise in thine own
eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
CATHERINE enters.
CATHERINE: Hon? Naabot naman diay ka.
Wala ko kadungog sa pultahan nga niabli.
Lawm gyud diay akong tulog run.
JOREL: Gikapoy siguro ka, hon.
CATHERINE: Lagi. Sige lang hon, okay rako
kapoyon. Ikaw pod bitaw, bisa’g gikapoy
naka, nanrabaho gihapon ka para natong
duha.
JOREL: Responsibilidad mana nako, hon.
CATHERINE: Hon, mura ka’g dili okay. Naa’y
problema?
JOREL: Sigh. Hon, gi-offeran ko ug special
task sa among manager sa company.
CATHERINE: Oh, unya?
JOREL: Ug ni-saad siya nga kung limpyo ug
sakto ang akong pagbuhat ani nga special
task, ma-doble daw ang akong salary.
CATHERINE: Ka-nindot gud ana nga offer
han. Pero, unsa mana nga special task?
JOREL: Mao lagi ang problema, ang special
task mismo. Ang ilang gustong buhaton
nako kay mukawat ko ug 20 percent sa
company ug akong isulod daw sa dummy
account. Naa daw kuno ko’y share sa 20
percent.
CATHERINE: Unsa?! Ayaw ana hon oy! Oo,
mo-dako lagi ang imong salary. Pero hon,
malipay ba ang Ginoo ana?
JOREL: Dili gyud malipay ang Ginoo ani hon,
kung mosugot ko. Apan, kung di pod ko
mosugot, mawagtangan pod ko’g trabaho.
Pahawaon ko sa kompanya kay nakabalo
naman ko sa special task.
CATHERINE: Hala hon! Pero, dapat di ta
mabalaka, hon. Ang Ginoo ang naghatag
nimo ana nga trabaho. So, buhata pod kung
unsa’y makapalipay Niya. Basin diay,
hatagan ka’g mas nindot nga trabaho. Basta
hon, ayaw gyud ug take part sa ilahang evil
ways. Okay?
JOREL: Salamat, hon. Magpray ta.
CATHERINE: Sige hon. Ipray nato ni karon.
BOTH: In Jesus name, amen.
CATHERINE and JOREL exit.
ACT 6 – MANAGER’S OFFICE
JAMES is already sitting in his office table.
JOREL comes in.
JOREL: Good morning, Mr. Salvacion.
JAMES: Mr. Buenavidez! Haha! How are
you?
JOREL: I’m doing great, sir. Uhm, I already
made up my mind, sir.
JAMES: That’s good. That’s good. So, unsa
man? Go ka?
JOREL: Sir, I have to be honest nga
attractive gyud kaayo ang imong offer sa
akoa. It’s a great help for my wife and I to
have my salary double, para maka-save mi
para puhon kung magka-anak mi.
JAMES: Yes, I know. That’s why I’m offering
that to you! So, can we start now?
JOREL: But sir, I have to say no.
JAMES: What?! Are you out of your mind?
Ngano mu-decline man ka sa offer nga
maka-tabang man sa imong pamilya?! You
know, mr. Buenavidez, we don’t offer this
to anyone in this company. We chose you
because we know that we can trust you.
JOREL: I appreciate the trust, sir, but my
God will not be happy if I will take part in
this monkey business. I apologize for the
word, sir.
JAMES: Since that will be your decision, you
already know what to do. Pack your things,
and leave.
JOREL: Thank you, sir.
JOREL exits. JAMES calling the FERRY.
FERRY: Hello, Mr. Salvacion.
JAMES: Good afternoon, Mr. CEO. I just
want to inform you that we already found
the right one.
FERRY: Kinsa mana siya?
JAMES: Mr. Marc Jorel Buenavidez
FERRY: Alright. Do what you need to do.
Phone call drops. JAMES calls JASON on the
phone.
JASON: Hello, Mr. Salvacion?
JAMES: Mr. Mahawan, please let Mr.
Buenavides come into my office right now.
JASON: Right away, sir.
JASON and JOREL enter the stage. JOREL
bringing a box of his things.
JOREL: Sir? Gipatawag lagi ko nimo?
JAMES: I have to tell you something, Mr.
Buenavides. Everything that you’ve heard

JOREL: Yes sir, I promise not to say a word
about it.
JAMES: Let me finish. Everything that

JOREL: Unsa’y boot pasabot nimo, Mr.
Salvacion?
JASON invites MAPIEN and ELAIJAH to join
them in the stage.
JAMES: We are currently looking for
someone nga mo-puli nako as the company
manager, because I’m also promoted as the
Vice President of Operations, busa need
nako naa’y mopuli sa akong pwesto.

You are the new company manager in this
department.
ALL CHARACTERS give an applause ang
congratulates JOREL.
JOREL: Thank you so much, Mr. Salvacion!
And Congratulations for your promotion as
well.
JAMES: Thank you, Mr. Buenavides. So,
employees, treat Mr. Buenavides with
respect as your company manager.
JASON: Yes! Magcelebrate gyud ta ani!
ELAIJAH: Sige na, sir Jorel! Celebrate ta sa
imong promotion.
MAPIEN: Pa-samgyeupsal naman diyan!
JOREL: Ani nalang, adto lang ta sa amoa
magcelebrate. Tawagan sa nako akong wife
para makabalo siya sa good news.
JOREL calls CATHERINE on the phone.
JOREL: Hello hon!
CATHERINE (voice-over): Hon! Ka-happy
ba!
JOREL: Hon! Na-promote ko as the new
company manager!
CATHERINE: Ha??! Imo diay tong gidawat
ang offer?
JOREL: No, hon. I did what is right in the
eyes of God. Magsturya nya ta nig uli nako
later, ha? Akong isulti nimo tanan! But by
the way, hon, akong giinvite ang akong mga
kauban sa work nga magdinner pod sila sa
balay kay gusto pod nila maki-celebrate.
Pwede ka maka-ready ug mga food, hon?
CATHERINE: Yes, sure hon! And by the way,
naa pod ko’y good news nimo.
JOREL: Unsa mana, hon?
CATHERINE: Hon… (cries) papa naka, hon.
JOREL: Ha?!
Co-employees are already curious.
CATHERINE: Yes hon. Buntis diay ko. Mao
diay nga dali na kayko kapoyon this recent
days, and magliponglipong ko.
JOREL: Hon! Grabiha ani oy!
CATHERINE: Sige hon ha? Magready sa ko
kay mag grocery ko para dinner nato.
JOREL: No hon! Ayaw na! Mag order lang ta
sa food panda, okay? Pahuway sa diha kay
mabughatan ta. Basin dili safe sa baby.
Co-employees are surprised by the word
‘baby’.
CATHERINE: Sige hon.. thank you. Magwait
lang ko Ninyo diri ha?
JOREL: Sige, amping ka diha. Bye..
Phone call drops.
ALL CHARACTERS: BABY?!!
JOREL: Papa nako. (cries with joy)
ALL CHARACTERS congratulate him. They
exit, saying goodbye to JOREL.
JOREL: (praying) Lord Jesus, salamat kaayo
sa pag-guide Nimo nako. Salamat sa double
good news! I couldn’t be happier than
seeing, Lord, nga worth it gyud diay ang
pagtrust sa Imong ways. Salamat kaayo sa
tanan. In Jesus Name, amen! Exits.
ACT 6 – CHURCH CONGREGATION
NARRATOR: Proverbs 16:20 He that
handleth a matter wisely shall find good:
and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is
he. Successful ang panrabaho ni Jorel sa
XYZ company as a company manager.
Magmalipayon pod nga uban ang kahadlok
sa Ginoo sa pagpadako sa ilang bugtong
nga anak. 15 years later…
JOREL is sitting in the front row with
CATHERINE and their daughter, Reziah.
ELLESSE is sitting in the last row of the
congregation. FERRY, as the pastor, raises
pledges from the congregation.
FERRY: Panalangin gyud ang wali karon no?
Unta dili ra kutob sa dunggan ang atong
napaminawan karon, kundi muabot pod ni
sa atong kasing-kasing ug ma-aplikar sa
atong kinabuhi. So, human ana ta’g pray, ug
sa di pa ta mag-dismiss, mag-raise sa ta sa
pledges para sa atong mission outreach.
Ang church mag reach out didto sa mga
area nga na-apektohan sa bagyong Odette,
ug need pod ta ug financial support. Kung
ikaw naa’y kasing-kasing sa mga kalag,
willing pod ka mu-hatag para sa mga kalag.
Sige, kinsa’y unsa mu-pledge?
JOREL: (raises his hand) Ako pastor!
FERRY: Oh, pila imo?
JOREL: 5,000 pesos.
FERRY: O sige, ilista palihog, Gio. 5,000 kang
Jorel. Next, kinsa pa man?
Extra characters raise for pledge.
ELLESSE: Ah, dakoa sa gipledge ni sir Jorel
oh. Kung ako pa ato nagpledge, naglisod
naman ko ug hunahuna kung asa ko
makakuha ana nga kwarta. Pero nganong
siya, magmalipayon pa man gihapon? Mo-
dool ko niya unya nig human ani.
FERRY: Okay, salamat church sa inyong
kasingkasing para sa mga kalag. So, next
week, mo-byahe ta padung didto. Kung
kinsa ang ganahan mokuyog, mag abot ta
diri alas siete sa buntag. Mao rato, and we
are now dismissed. Be a blessing bisa’g asa
ka muadto.
ELLESSE: (runs toward Jorel) Sir! Sir!
JOREL: oy! Dong Ellesse!
ELLESSE: Sir, pwede ko makigstorya nimo?
Naa ra unta ko’y pangutana ba.
JOREL: Ah sige. Kadali lang. (To Catherine)
Una sa mo didto sa sakyanan, hon.
CATHERINE and REZIAH exit.
JOREL: Unsa man imong pangutana,
Ellesse?
ELLESSE: Sir, nakabantay ko nimo ba.
Magmalipayon man kayka? Mura ka’g
wala’y gidala nga problema sa kinabuhi.
Nakit-an tika nga kusog ka manghatag sa
uban, mu-share pagyud ka sa gospel.
Makita gyud nako sir nga gi-asenso ka sa
Ginoo. Unsa’y sekreto nimo?
JOREL: Sige, dong. Kuyog ka namo.
Maglunch ta. Didto nako isulti kung unsa
ang akong sekreto sa kinabuhi.
ELLESSE and JOREL exit.
NARRATOR: Being a faithful steward is not
only about how to manage our financial
resources, but also on living honest in
everything that we do. Considering God is
the owner of all things, to work diligently,
steward efficiently, save regularly, and give
generously are what God wants us to do.
Abiders, our faithfulness to honor God with
our finances prepares our hearts to honor
