The collection system comprises configurable stereo camera systems,

INS/GNSS – based navigational sensor technology and a controller, which
controls the stereo system release, synchronizes the release points with the
navigation data and records raw image data. The navigation data recorded
during the measuring trip is used to calculate precisely the absolute posi-
tion and alignment of every stereo system in the space.

active web viewer. The Street Smart API allows the GeoCyclo-

3D Cycloramas
NeoTech Smart City supplies 3D Cycloramas: high-quality,
high-resolution 360° panoramic images that provide users with
reliable and objective imagery showing public spaces. 3D
Cycloramas make it possible to view the environment from the
street level.
Thanks to unique camera and processing techniques, the 3D

Cycloramas are metrically correct with precise location and
orientation information built in (geo-referencing). 3D Cycloramas
are captured systematically and on a large scale. They are taken
at an interval of 5 metres (16.4 ft) on all public roads accessible to
vehicles.
Either alone or in combination with other geographical and

administrative data, provided as standard by NeoTech Smart City
or provided by the user or third parties, 3D Cycloramas form an
essential source of information for applications in many (geo-
oriented) work processes.

Street Smart
Street Smart is the interactive web viewer for all NeoTech Smart
City content: GeoCycloramas and point clouds. Our user-friendly
interface enables fast and easy access to all our data. This
includes recent as well as historic data, allowing NeoTech Smart
City and our clients to detect changes and examine
developments over the years.
Among the many other functions, it also includes several data

layers and our Measure Smart feature. This makes measuring in
our GeoCycloramas both fast and easy.
Street Smart can be used stand-alone or within the framework of

other existing GIS systems, by using our Street SmartAPI.
HD Cyclorama
A GeoCyclorama is a 360° panoramic image with an ultra-high
resolution. They provide a reliable and objective digital view of
public spaces from street-level. The high quality and resolution
provides users with the clarity to see details like house numbers,
infrastructure characteristics and the condition of assets and real
estate. All can be viewed, assessed and analysed without having
to go to the actual location.

A Cyclorama is a 360° panoramic photograph with an ultra-high

resolution, excellent positioning and orientation, and a good image
quality. Cycloramas are easy to access, use and manage through
the Street Smart application. The Cycloramas are hosted through
NeoTech Smart City as a standard service.
The location and orientation (geo-reference) is recorded precisely

for each Cyclorama. Geo- referencing allows users to perform
measurements in Cycloramas that can be exported to any
Geographic Information System (GIS). 2D and 3D geographical data
can also be displayed as data layers (overlays) in the Cycloramas.
Street Ortho
Street Ortho is a true orthophoto that can be used amongst others
for mapping out assessments of the public space and asset
management. Street Ortho gets generated out of LiDAR data and
HD Cycloramas collected by our mobile mapping system.
NeoTech Smart City’s Street Ortho quickly translates reality into a

digital visualization, without overhead obstructions such as trees.
Whether your goal is mapping out entire areas or updating map
data of smaller areas within, Street Ortho performs the task with
high precision.

Street Ortho visualizes the area both on and next to the street, it is
built out of photographic base layers (multiple in the case of
bridges) each with two solid-color height layers showing objects
above street level.
A 3D model is created from Street LiDAR; the points get connected

to each other, resulting in a network of triangular surfaces
(polygons). This model then gets texturized with Cycloramas, after
which an orthophoto gets created from ground level. In the end, two
point cloud height layers get added to visualize objects in the public
space; this contributes to the contextual experience.
Street Ortho enables highly detailed visualizations and is not

obstructed by canopies, leaning, bridges, etc. Street Ortho image
files draw as a seamless layer.
Street LiDAR
Street LiDAR enables highly detailed visualizations and provides

input for deep learning analyses. The LiDAR data is recorded using
DCRs, the proprietary mobile mapping system of NeoTech Smart
City Technology.
In addition to our well-known patented camera system, a LiDAR
system is integrated into the mobile mapping equipment.

The system emits 695,000 laser pulses per second. The time it
takes for each pulse to be reflected is recorded.
Based on this time period, each pulse is converted into one or more
points with an X, Y, and Z coordinate. These points are used to
create a three-dimensional cloud of points.
Street LiDAR data collection is a continuous process that is

performed during the regular Cyclorama recording process. A new
Cyclorama is created every five meters.
The Cycloramas are used to give a color value to each point in

Street LiDAR. The point cloud then becomes more than just a
complete three-dimensional data set. It also provides a near
photorealistic representation of the outdoor space.
