Let’s see how many systems can you spot in this puzzle
RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
Learning Goals
1. Describe the mechanism of how the major organs of the respiratory system work
together.
2. Explain how the major organs of the respiratory system work together.
Hi classmate! May I
ask, how long can you
hold your breath?
What particular
You got it! It is the
system responsible for Respiratory System!!!
This is a picture of the RESPIRATORY SYSTEM that
shows its different parts and pathway of
air. Breathing is the process that brings oxygen from
the air into your lungs and moves oxygen and
through your body. The human respiratory system is
a series of organs responsible for taking in oxygen
and expelling carbon dioxide. The primary organs of
the respiratory system are lungs, which carry out this
exchange of gases as we breathe.

This chart of the RESPIRATORY SYSTEM shows
its different parts and pathway of air. Breathing is
the process that brings oxygen from the air into
your lungs and moves oxygen and through your
body. The human respiratory system is a series
of organs responsible for taking in oxygen and
expelling carbon dioxide. The primary organs of
the respiratory system are lungs, which carry out
this exchange of gases as we breathe.
The Organs of the Respiratory Tract
1. Nose- entrance of air particularly oxygen
2. Nasal Cavity- keeps the air warm
3. Pharynx- passageway of both food and air
2
4. Larynx- voice box, contains the vocal chords
3
5. Trachea- also called the windpipe. It is cartilaginous
4 always open at all times.
6. Bronchus- branching out from the trachea.
DO OU branches
7. Bronchioles- KNOW of bronchi
Diaphragm-ME?
Alveoli- grape-like clusters . Exchange of gases take pla
not a part but helps in the breathing

MECHANISM OF
When you inhale, air comes into your
body. Air moves through the nose, nasal
cavity, making it warm and at the same time it
filters impurities of the air. Then will move down
to the pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi,
bronchioles and lastly to the alveoli. Exchange
of gases quickly take place in alveoli.
Beneath the lungs, you will find the
diaphragm. It is not a part of the respiratory
system but, It plays a major role on breathing Examine the illustration below. The ac
mechanism. When you inhale, the diaphragm
contracts(flattens) and when you exhale, it
relaxes(forming a dome shape) releasing air.
