December 2019 released by Development Bureau, HKSAR.

2. BIM Standards (20 points):

interoperability.
(b) List 5 examples of BIM standards available.
(c) List 5 example aspects to be covered in a BIM project execution plan.

3. BIM Standards (25 points):

Consider the IFC (EXPRESS) schema file ‘IFC2X3_Final.exp’. The file can be opened
using any text editor such as WordPad and Microsoft Word.

(a) Write down the schema of the IFC entities IfcWallStandardCase, IfcWall,
IfcBuildingElement, and IfcAxis2Placement3D.
(b) Write down the inheritance graph of the IFC entitities IfcWallStandardCase and
IfcAxis2Placement3D. (Ignore the INVERSE and DERIVE sections.)
(c) Write down the attributes of the IFC entitities IfcWallStandardCase and

(d) Consider the IFC file ‘sample.ifc’. Write down the line of element #2785, and specify
the value of each attribute of the wall represented in Line #2785.
(e) Consider the IFC file ‘sample.ifc’. Build the tree for the element #2777. That is, copy

Repeat the procedures until the leaf nodes are reached. (Ignore the INVERSE and
WHERE clauses.)
