My grand mother is more than ninety years old which makes her the oldest
person in the whole family.
Since her piligrimage to Mecca in 1980 every body is calling her
‘’El Hadja’’. Despite her old age her memory is still fresh. She always tell us that
many things used to be different when she was young .
My grandma used to begin her day very early before sunrise, she was already
busy at work , while everybody else was still in bed.
Grandma used to do the housework by herself. She used to make clothes for
her children. As for her outdoor work, She used to raise some hens for their eggs
cows and sheep for their milk and meat. She also used to help men to grow
vegetables and cultivate crops.
When a member of the family was ill, she used to cure him by using home
made remedies. She showed them which herbs they should collect from forest as
it was common at that time a lot of people used to cure illnesses by taking herbal
medicines.
