LESSON 6: SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES

APPLICATION AND ASSESSMENT

1.PROPOSE or suggest a program or platform in school or in your community

that will raise the awareness of the students and to help eliminate sexually
transmitted diseases especially among the youth.

I as a facilitator of YOUHEALTH in children international, I would like to take this

opportunity to advocate our program that we called YOUHEALTH. We have been
teaching and sharing knowledge all about sex education, the contraceptives, family
planning, good communications skills, alcohol, tobacco and drug abuse, sexually
transmitted diseases and many more. We have been teaching youth for almost 4 years.
We are visiting and gathering youth from 1 st to 3rd district in Albay. We are renting a
school for us to be able to teach every youth we are also giving them free snacks and
lunch and, we are giving them some free handouts about every topic that we tackle.
Every youth are required to attend every session. We have 7 sessions, and it is held
every weekends. We are very happy and overwhelmed that we serve and help every
youth for them to be able to be aware in everything that they will encounter maybe not
ow but in the future. It is our pleasure to serve on behalf of children international and the
YOUHEALTH family.

2. Which is the safest family planning method?

The safest family planning method is what they say the condoms where in it is actually
98% effective but since people are quite not very good and ignorant, according to
statistics it is only 85% effective but the good thing in using condom is that is the only
contraceptive that is perfect in not transmitting sexually diseases like STD, HIV and
AIDS. But have you heard about the word ABSTINENCE?. It is the safest and a 100%
effective way in not getting pregnant and not getting those sexually transmitted
infections. Abstinence is simply by saying no. In short ABSTINENCE IS SAYING NO
TO SEX.
3, What is the most natural contraceptive method?
There are so many natural contraceptives that Filipinos have, we have what we called
fertility awareness method. The fertility awareness methos is based upon knowing when
a woman ovulates each month. That is what we call the calendar method. On the
average, the egg is released about 14 (plus or minus 2) days before a woman's
next menstrual period. But because the egg survives 3 to 4 days (6 to 24 hours after
ovulation) and the sperm can live 48 to 72 hours (up to even 5 days in fertile mucus),
the actual time during which a woman may become pregnant is measured not in hours,
not in days, but in weeks. But always remember that calendar methos is not a 100%
safe it is a myth.
4. Agree or Disagree. Are you in favor of legalizing marriage among homosexuals
and transgenders? Why?
According to statistics same sex marriage will lead to raise of sexually transmitted
infection but aside from that fact the main question is if I do agree in same sex
marriage. Well, I do agree in same sex marriage. It is always becoming questions in
every debate that I have encountered but my answer will always be yes, I do agree in
same sex marriage because why would someone block a person’s feelings. Why would
someone tell another what is right from wrong well in fact no one’s perfect? Why do
people always based on what the bible have said. Mind me I am catholic, and I do
believe in God, but do you think God would also be happy form what we are doing? Is
God will be happy when he is seeing his people judging and commenting other people
lives? Is God will be happy if he is seeing his people crying and begging for the society
for them to accept who they really are? NO! People will say that is a sin, but do you
think you’re not committing a sin by judging stopping other people’s lives? and here let
me tell you one thing we all know that Philippines is one of the most populated country,
have you every thought of the fact that by same sex marriage we are helping our
economy. We are helping our country to lessen our population and helps those street
children and the children that are in the orphanage to have the chance and opportunity
to experience what a family is. We should realize things based on reality. We are living
in 21st century and let us live and let every people live the way they wanted to live. It is
their choice not yours so why would you bother?
