Q When can I begin selling BarTender® 2019?

A We are targeting early next year for the release of BarTender 2019.

Q When will we find out more information about the new features added in BarTender 2019?

A We will be steadily releasing additional information and content to our partners in


preparation for the release of BarTender 2019. Please stay tuned for additional content
and communication which will delve into these new features and how customers may use
BarTender 2019 to enhance their labeling experience.

Q With the current BarTender licensing model my customer had to purchase a 10-printer
Automation license even though they only had 9 printers in their facility. The new
BarTender licensing model seems to address this problem, correct?

A Yes! With the upcoming changes to our licensing model you may now sell a customer the
exact quantity of printers they need to support their BarTender labeling environment.

Q I have a customer who is not on maintenance or has expired maintenance. Can they now
add maintenance without a penalty?

A A customer may purchase maintenance without a penalty from now until 90 days after the
launch of BarTender 2019. The customer will need to purchase maintenance going back to
the previous expiration date, or purchase date if they were never on maintenance. One
additional year of maintenance must also be purchased.

Q A current customer on maintenance wishes to add printers. Will they be charged for
Standard Maintenance and Support on the additional printers after the new policies go
into effect, or is it already included for one year?

A Printers added to a current BarTender license will include a year of Standard Maintenance
and Support on those printers. When the customer renews their agreement, a credit will be
applied to the renewal price for any unused months on the recently purchased printers. For
example, if additional printers are added to a license four months into their agreement, the
next Standard Maintenance and Support renewal will reflect a credit for those four months.

Q Will you continue to offer technical support to current BarTender customers not on
Standard Maintenance and Support?

A All customers will be able to contact Technical Support by email or online forms, and to
access our user forums and self-service support, but customers with an active agreement
will have higher priority. Live support (by phone or chat) will be available only to customers
with an active Standard Maintenance and Support agreement.

Q How will I quote and order edition upgrades (from Automation to Enterprise, for example)?

A Request a quote from Seagull, and we will calculate the price for you. You can use the new
portal to approve the quote online, and the order will automatically be processed. We are
also working to enable self-service quote requests in the new portal, which will be available
shortly after launch.

Q I have a customer using a previous version without maintenance, and they want to update
to BarTender 2019 when released. What can they do?

A To update for free (and retain access to live support), they should bring their maintenance
up to date, which they can do without penalty up to 90 days after launch. Otherwise, they
must purchase a new license.
