1.

Character
Character is the most important work ethic for me. Skills and educational
background are promising but these can be comprehend if the worker has the initiative
and willingness to learn. Character lasts for life that is why it is more praised than an
outstanding talent. A worker should be honest for the boss and his/her coworkers to
trust him/her. Trust in work is as important as trust in a relationship and friendship. If
it’s broken, you can never return it the way it used to be. To be dependable is a one
factor of having a good character that could lead a worker to become more trustworthy.
A worker should comply the assigned tasks correctly and promptly so that the boss and
coworkers could see him/her as auspicious. Being loyal is part of the good character that
every worker should have. Loyalty could be the hardest thing to do especially is there
are a lot of temptations that surrounds. A worker should always speak positively about
the company so the reputation of the company will not be destroyed. Lastly, they
should be willing to learn. Just like what I said at the first part, skills can be improved. A
worker should always find a way a have the willingness to learn new things so he/she
can contribute for the company’s success.

2. Attitude
Some would say that attitude is no different with character but it is dissimilar.
Attitude is one of the most essential work ethic than every employee should have
because having a good attitude means you are always thinking positively. When an
employee is pessimist, the environment, work and the people he/she’s working with will
be affected. Having a positive outlook to your work could lead to a major success but
always remember to keep your feet on the ground. Don’t let too much positivity make
you an over confident worker. Listening to other people’s suggestion is part of having a
good attitude. Once you enter a company, you will deal with a lot of people and would
share workloads with them. Always listen to someone’s idea because everyone has a
creative mind and you’ll never know if someone’s idea could make you and the
company achieve its goals and last but definitely not the least, an employee should
always accept responsibility for ones work. He/she should admit mistakes if he/she
committed it. Don’t point your fingers at anyone else and never excuse yourself when it
is clearly your fault because that is a big turn off that could make you lose your job in a
company. Acknowledge or confess your mistakes then apologize for it.

3. Team Work
Working as a team in a firm is very common so for you to succeed, you need to have the
sense of team work. When you work as a group, you will always have the tendency or
the possibility to work with the people you sometimes don’t even really like but of
course, this is never an excuse for you to be irresponsible and finish your work
incorrectly. This always requires fellowship and cooperation. You have to put aside your
personal feelings in order for you to accomplish your work orderly. Aside from being a
team player, you should also have a leadership skills. In every interview, applicants were
always asked about their experiences in leading a group or a team because when you
have these capabilities and experiences, it would be easy for you to work as a group and
sometimes the chances of you being the team leader is high so when you got to that
point, you will know how to be a good leader and of course to be a good member as
well. Remember that being good leader doesn’t mean that you always order things
around. You have to ask for suggestions and ideas and learn to accept and compromise
it. You should know when to speak up so you won’t step on someone’s pride that could
lead to misunderstanding and argument. Being a contributing member is what always a
team leader asked even in school. When you are a good member, everyone wants you
to be their teammate or workmate. You have to follow orders and do the work
correctly. Never become an encumbrance to your team.
