About this BOM…

On the 1st of every month throughout 2016 my friend Allie and I will take turns
sharing a free Christian stitchery with you.
We’ve named this Block of the Month “Postcards From Heaven” because
each of our designs has been inspired by a promise from our Father in Heaven;
promises written and delivered to each of us through His Word, The Holy
Bible.
You are free to use them as postcards to send to friends, or in another project
of your choosing.
The most important thing is that you hold tight to His promises, because they
are life giving and life changing.
Be blessed!

Stitching the March block:

When the idea of sharing the monthly patterns as a ‘postcard’ came to me I

decided to give an authentic appearance to the completed designs by leaving
some parts unstitched and leaving them written in brown Pigma pen.

If you’re not confident embroidering small words in backstitch this is a great

alternative for the Scripture reference.

I left the ‘postcard’ and the Post Office ‘wave’ watermark across the stamp
unstitched as well.

If you think stitching the full message on the postcard is still beyond your
confidence leave it written as well, or you could try stitching the verse in a
single strand of thread because this is much easier. Go on, give it a go. ☺
I’ve made my postcards into tiny bound quilts and am yet to decide how I will
display them, but I’m thinking they’d be lovely stitched onto hanging pockets.
The addition of small buttons as flower centres gave the design a nice 3D effect,
but why not use beads (which is what I did in Block 2) if you have them?

You might even add lace or a real stamp?

Be blessed as you stitch!
