The examination shows evidences that the victim is a female. The old lacerations indicate
that she has undergone sexual intercourse in the past and signifies that she is no longer a virgin,
however the laceration at 2 o’clock and 6 o’clock of her hymen suggest that she had a sexual
intercourse before her death and might be a possible issue of rape as evidenced by the hematoma on
her face, abdomen, right and left thigh as well as the linear abrasions found in her forearm which
clearly signifies defense wounds caused by possible struggle. And lastly the ligature marks around her
neck shows that she is a victim of homicidal hanging and which might caused her death. With all the
evidence being presented, it is a clear proof of rape with homicide.

If I was invited by the dean of the college of law as a consultant for a possible revision for the
legal medicine subject. I would suggest that the syllabus be improved by adding more cases or
jurisprudence on the syllabus. This will help students to better visualize actual scenarios on the topic.
Nonetheless, legal medicine, as it is now provided new insights to the students and only need to be
improved by little.
