Work Tool - Select

SMCS - 5000-529

The following procedure is used in order to change the settings for the work tool.

Note: Make sure that the hydraulic lockout control is in the LOCKED position before you change the
settings for the work tool.

1. The default screen of the monitor is shown in Illustration 1. This screen appears when the
monitor is initially turned ON.

2. Press menu key (4) . The screen shown in Illustration 3 will be displayed.

3. Press right key (2) or left key (5) in order to highlight the "SETTING" menu option from the
"MAIN MENU" screen.

4. Press OK key (8) . The screen shown in Illustration 4 will be displayed.

5. Press up key (1) or down key (6) until "WORK TOOL SELECT" is highlighted.

7. After OK key (8) is pressed, the "WORK TOOL SELECT" menu will be displayed with the
current options for work tool. Refer to Illustration 5.

8. Press up key (1) or down key (6) in order to highlight the desired work tool.

Note: If the work tools have been configured through Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET), the
names of the work tools will be displayed instead of the default names from the factory. The
factory default names for the work tools are numbers, "TOOL #01" through "TOOL #10".
Changing the factory work tool default name to the actual work tool name will simplify the
selection of the work tool by the operator.

NOTICE

When BUCKET/NO TOOL is selected in the monitor, the hydraulic

pumps produce maximum flow. Do not select BUCKET/NO TOOL
when a work tool is attached to the machine.

9. When the desired tool is highlighted, press OK key (8) . If a dot appears in the circle to the left
of "TOOL NAME", the work tool is selected. See Illustration 6.
