OBJECTIVE

• To conserve the street light power using pulse width

modulation technique and to design a density knowledgeable
automatic traffic light.
ABSTRACT

• White Light Emitting Diode (LED) based lamps are soon

replacing the HID lamps in street light.

• Thus intensity control is now possible by pulse width modulation

based on sensing the movement and density of vehicles.

• In this project it provide one of the state of art solution for power
saving technique of LED street lighting with variable intensity of
light and based upon the crowd density it change the street light
green time.
EXISTING SYSTEM

• In the existing system lighting unit is designed to be

controlled and monitored remotely.

• The existing street lighting provides specific lighting

according to the lighting area.

• The lighting amount, position and fault conditions of the

lamp can be monitored.

• Different control strategies have been proposed for various

lighting scenarios.

PROPOSED SYSTEM

• In this proposed system, a low power consumption LED

Street light based on smart control system is designed.

• The intensity of LED Street light varies with these

parameters. We have used two sensors that are LDR (light
depending resistor) sensor and motion sensor.

• In this system we used sensor to measure sun light

intensity, day / night condition and traffic on a road.
PROPOSED SYSTEM (Contd).,

• LDR sensor is used to control the switching action of LED

street lights depending on sunlight condition.

• Motion sensor is used to change the intensity of LED light,

when there is no motion of object at mid night on street then
all the street lights are dimmed, to reduce the power
consumption.

• Based on the crowd density sensed by the IR sensor, the

traffic light is also controlled by making the green time high
on high crowded area to reduce the time consumption.

PROPOSED SYSTEM DESIGN
ADVANTAGES

• In dim mode, it is about 35%.

• Using LED’s in this technology, it provides cool environment

unlike HID lamps.

• Operative and maintenance is cost effective.

• Utilization of energy is optimized using this technology.

APPLICATIONS

• Road transport

• Industies
CONCLUSION

• The LDR ,Photo electric sensor which is helpful to conserve

our power.

• The day time the light will be in off condition and in the
night time it will be in dim when no persons are vehicle is
moving on road.

• The experimental results shows the our proposed system has

very accurate and conserve more power so it is very useful
and efficient techniques.
