distance, especially one that enables someone to establish their location.
Example: The Eiffel Tower is a famous landmark of Paris.

1. Do you know any famous landmarks in foreign countries? Which ones?
Yes, I know many popular and not so popular sights of the world. Now such attractions of the
world as the Great Wall of China, Taj Mahal, the Statue of Liberty, as well as the Eiffel Tower
come to my mind.
2. Which of them would you like to visit? Why?
I would like to visit the Statue of Liberty in New York, as I have long wanted not only to look at
the Statue of Liberty, but also to walk the streets of New York, find out how people live in it,
what they are fond of and what their interests are.

Baiterek
Baiterek is a monument in the capital of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan, the most
important and recognizable landmark of the city. The project was launched
at the initiative of the first president of the Republic of Kazakhstan,
Nursultan Nazarbayev, the project architect is Akmurza Rustembekov.
During the construction, the volume of earthworks was 8600 m³, concrete -
2900 m³, metal structures - 1 kiloton, dome glazing - 1555 m².
For finishing, engineering and special works 23 subcontractors were
involved. The approximate cost of metalwork and glazing is about $ 6
million. The object was commissioned according to the act of the State
Commission in 2003. The height of the structure is 100 meters, with a ball
crowning the structure - 105 meters. The diameter of the ball is 22 meters.
The lower level goes four and a half meters underground, where cafes,
aquariums and a mini-gallery "Baiterek" are located. From there, you can
take an elevator to the uppermost level - a ball, inside which there is a bar
and a panoramic hall.
