Laboratory Findings:
Necropsy:
- Eyes were clear and apparently normal
- Abnormal body color but no signs of inflammation or bruises were observed on
the skin.
- Bright-red gills and brownish colored liver were also observed.
Parasitological:
- Wet mounts of gills, intestines and other vital organs were prepared and
subjected for microscopy. Upon microscopic examination, presence of gill flukes
identified as Dactylogyrus spp. were seen on the gill filaments of the Siganid
breeder. In addition, presence of roundworms or nematodes were also seen in the
gastro-intestinal tract and identified as Camallanus spp.

Laboratory Findings:
Necropsy:
- Results of necropsy showed that eyes were clear and white patches on the body
but with no signs of inflammation or bruises were observed on the skin for both
Siganid breeder samples submitted.
- Brownish colored liver was observed on Siganus vermiculatus and apparently
normal light red colored liver was observed on Siganus guttatus.
Parasitological:
- Wet mounts of gills, intestines and other vital organs were prepared and
subjected for microscopy. Upon microscopic examination, presence of gill flukes
identified as Dactylogyrus spp. were seen on the gill filaments of the Siganid
breeder. In addition, presence of roundworms or nematodes were also seen in the
gastro-intestinal tract and identified as Camallanus spp.. Parasites identified
were seen on both Siganid breeders samples submitted.
