CLINICAL LABORATORY RECORD

CASE CODE NO: AAHL-01-28-2021-001 Date Examined: January 28, 2021

Name of Client : Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources – Regional Office 1

Address : San Fernando City, La Union, 2500
Specimen : 1 pooled sample of marketable size milkfish ( Chanos chanos) and 2
brackishwater
Average Weight : ~100 grams of marketable size milkfish
Source : Fish Pen at San Fabian, Pangasinan
Analysis Conducted: External and Internal Examination of Fish (Necropsy) | Bacterial Enumeration |
Identification of Random Bacterial Colonies Isolated from Internal Organs
Transported : Live: ____Preserved: ____ Dead (Iced): X_

Laboratory Findings:

Necropsy:
- Fish samples were noted with sulphidy
(rotten-egg and extremely fish odor)
- Eyes were clear with no signs of
inflammations or bruises.
- Internally, pale to grayish white colored
gills with signs of infarcted gill tissues,
liver appeared to be brownish to
yellowish in color.
- Flesh/muscle tissues and other internal
organs were soft.
Examined milkfish Chanos chanos exhibited
brownish to yellowish colored liver and
marbled appearance of the gills with pale and
Bacteriological: necrotizing areas.
Water samples and pieces of tissue of liver, spleen and
kidney were taken for bacteriological testing. Results are as follows:

processed
Cedecea lapagei
Acinetobacter spp.
Predominant Bacterial Isolates
Flavimonas oryzihabitans
Chryseomonas luteola

Remarks:

The bacterial isolates identified were part of the normal microflora in the fish gut and water
which are ubiquitous in nature.
