Plastic has become the biggest problem

on the earth and for our environment.
For more than 2 years we have been
hearing of how single-use plastic ware
end up in our landfills and oceans,
where they harm marine life and
release toxic pollutants. we're now even
able to trace micro-plastics in our food
sources.

Government of India banned single use

plastic in 25 states of India, but with
lack of alternatives and low consumer
awareness, illegal trade of plastic dis-
posables is still continuing. Although
plastic recycling is one of the solutions
but it is a poorly managed business in
India . Due to lack of technology and
training to recycle different plastics,
unscientific segregation is done by
untrained rag pickers which rather
causes harm to environment.
India has largest bamboo cover in the
world. Bamboo is non wood biomass
available abundantly in India. Govern-
ment of India is promoting bamboo
cultivation across major bamboo states
to enhance farmers livelihood in poor
agriculture regions of India. But due to
lack of technology and industrial appli-
cations, the commercial value of
bamboo crop is still very low for the
farmers.
