COMPONENTS OF COMPUTER
INPUT UNIT
1. This unit is the one in charge of being able to connect devices that enter data to the
computer.
2. The input devices are of many types such as keyboard, mouse, joy stick, microphone,
camera etc.
3. Input devices give different set of input values converted into a form understandable to
the computer.

OUTPUT UNIT
1. The output unit It is made up of the devices with which we obtain the information that
comes from the computer.
2. Output devices notify the information displayed into a form which is understandable by
the computer user.
3. the output unit is the unit composed of devices such as cameras, speakers, printers, etc.

MAIN MEMORY
1. The main memory refers to physical memory that is internal to the computer.
2. Is the only part where the computer can manipulate only data that is in main memory.
3. In the main memory every program you execute and every file you access must be copied
from a storage device into main memory.

PERIPHERALS
1. A peripheral or peripheral device is an auxiliary device used to put information into and
get information out of a computer.
2. A peripheral device is generally defined as any auxiliary device such as a computer
mouse or keyboard, that connects to and works with the computer in some way.
3. A peripheral device is an internal or external device that connects directly to a computer
or other digital device but does not contribute to the computer's primary function, such as
computing.
CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT
1. The central processing unit is the brain of the computer.
2. In the part where the computer performs all types of data processing operations as
required by a programmer.
3. The central processing unit, it stores all the data, intermediate results, and instructions as
given by the programmer in the form of codes (program).

STORAGE DEVICES
1. A storage device is any type of computing hardware that is used for storing, porting or
extracting data files and objects.
2. In a storge device hold and store information both temporarily and permanently.
3. A storage device may be internal or external to a computer, server or computing device.

SOFTCOPY
1. Is an electronic copy of some type of data, such as a file viewed on a computer's display
or transmitted as an e-mail attachment.
2. Information that can be viewed on a computer screen rather than that which is printed on
paper.
3. Is a file viewed on a computer's display or transmitted as an e-mail attachment.

HARDCOPY
1. Is a printed copy of information from a computer.
2. Sometimes referred to as a printout, a hard copy is so-called because it exists as a
physical object.
3. Hardcopy is the same information, viewed on a computer display or sent as an e-mail
attachment, is sometimes referred to as a soft copy.

MONITOR
1. A computer monitor is an output device that displays information in pictorial or text
form.
2. It is a screen where you can see your information coming from the computer.
3. A monitor is a output device, is one of the most important part of the computer cause is
the part when you can see all the things the information that comes out of the computer.
