● How does Mary’s song serve as a bridge between the Old Testament and the New

Testament?

Mary’s song is a song of praise. It is known as The Magnificant in modern times. We can

say that Mary’s song is a song of gratitude as well. Mary wanted to express how she was

feeling about God and His plans with her. She said that the Lord is great. The song starts

with mary edifying her love and glory to God. This song tells of who Mary is and how

big her faith is she said in verses 46-47 my soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices

in God my savior. We cant see how she establishes her faith further in verses 48-50 where

she acknowledges that God is taking her humble status and using it to exalt her for

generations to come. Mary also expresses her nervousness about her new situation but

she said that she trusted that God has it all under control. In her song, Mary talks about

God’s past work. Mary makes remembrance of what God has done for mankind and also

what he has done tho her life, this is how her song serves as a bridge between the old

Testament and the New Testament. Mary tells the story of how God saved his people

from Egypt. Mary also speaks about God’s covenant whit Abraham. In all times Mary

trusted in God’s promises. Mary teaches us that no matter the situations or the

circumstances, God has it all in his hands.

● How does Mary’s song connect to your own life and experiences? In other words, how

can you sing Mary’s song yourself?

I got pregnant when I was 18 years old, and I was nervous about my new situation

without knowing what to do. This is how I can connect to Mary’s song, as being pregnant

at a young age. I was very scared and confuse about the new reality that I was living in. I

was not always a believer as Mary was. God has given me wisdom, strength, and

courage, Hew has walked right alone on my side. God has provided for me and my son in

ways that only He can do it. Even in diversity, He kept me hopeful that things will get

better. Mary says in verse 50 “His mercy extends to those who fear from him, from

generation to generation.” We have to be fearful of God all the time, and we also need to

trust in God all the time, and we also need to be grateful as well. Same as Mary we need

to praise Him for what He has done in our lives and in the lives of our loved ones. I am

not perfect, but even though I made my mistakes, God has always been there for me and

redirect my steps to the right path. Mary gives us a revolutionary example of praise, an

example is given by a young girl who is carrying the one and only son of God. She

teaches me that same like she trusted that God will keep His promises, I also have to keep

the faith and trust that our God has all under control.
