INTRODUCTION: M/s. Dain Colour Chem is an existing
manufacturing unit located at Plot No. 5, Nilkanth Industrial Estate,
B/H. Gayatri Dairy, Dhanot, Ta. Kalol, Dist. Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
In existing unit, they are manufacturing synthetic organic chemical
(Dyes) @ 147.0 MT/Month. Now they are going to increase capacity
of existing product of synthetic organic Chemical (Reactive & Food
dyes) @ 150.0 MT/Month.

IMPACT ON LOCAL ENVIRONMENT BY PROPOSED PROJECT

ECOLOGY: There are no endangered, threatened & protected plants
and animal species were recorded in the study area. Hence, no
significant adverse impact is envisaged on ecology.
The company will also develop plantation.
AIR: Baseline study indicates that AAQ in the surrounding study area
with respect to PM2.5, PM10, SO2, NOX and VOC are well within the
stipulated permissible limits as prescribed by the latest National
Ambient Air Quality (NAAQ).
Company will use Bio Coal & Natural Gas as a fuel. There will be
process gas emission (SPM) from Spray Dryer (for Dyes) & Spray
dryer for effluent therefore no long-term impact.

NOISE: The industry will provide adequate noise control measures

such as mufflers & silencers at the air inlet/outlet, antivibration pad
for equipment with have extreme vibration etc. Ear plugs & ear
muffs will be provided to the workers where noise level will remain
extremely high.
LAND ENVIRONMENT
Air pollution, water pollution and solid waste pollute soil and causes
direct/indirect effect on soil. For air pollution proper air pollution
control measure is there so no direct impact on soil and Industrial
effluent there is zero liquid discharge in soil.
All necessary control measures will be provided for handling, storage
and safe disposal of solid/hazardous waste, which will be generated
from the proposed expansion project. Thus, there will not be any
significant impact of solid waste on the soil Environment.

WATER BALANCE CHECK

Water Source – Water tanker Supply
Total Water Requirement: 36.7 KLD
Total Fresh Water Requirement: 17.7 KLD
Total Reuse Water: 19 KLD.
Total Industrial Wastewater generation: 28 KLD Industrial Effluent
Generation@ 28 KLD_ goes to ETP (Cap- 40 KLD, having Primary
treatment unit) then treated water send to RO & RO permeate 19
KLD will be reused and RO rejected 8.9 KLD will be send to In- House
Spray Dryer. From that 1.16 MT/ day generated sludge will disposed
to TSDF site and remaining 7.74 KLD evaporate in spray dryer.
Along with it a well proposed Strategic Control / Management is
given for reuse of waster that is waste water treatment plant is set
up and the unit will also implement the concept of waste
minimization

SOCIO-ECONOMIC ENVIRONMENT
Due to Proposed expansion project, 2 nos. of local peoples and
outside peoples will get employment during the construction phase
and additional 23 peoples will be employed during the operation
phase. The indirect employment will also be generated by way of
transportation, shopkeepers and other casual employment for many
people. Thus, the proposed Expansion project will have long term-
irreversible positive impact on the employment pattern of the study
area.
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PLAN
FOR CONSTRUCTION PHASE Well maintained vehicles will be used. x
Metalled Road for Vehicle Movement x Well maintained equipment
will be utilized to prevent noise generation. x Local labour will be
hired for the work so that housing arrangement will be avoided.
FOR OPERATIONAL PHASE: They planned all the necessary steps to
control Water Pollution, Air Pollution, noise pollution as well as
Hazardous Waste Pollution.
