Case Questions
1. Identify the operations management problems that Dr. Barr is having at
the clinic.

2. The schedule Dr. Barr set up worked well at the clinic where she was a
resident. What are some of the reasons why it might not be working here?

3. Identify some of the reasons why the clinic is having inventory problems.

4. What should Dr. Barr have done differently to avoid some of the
problems she is currently experiencing?

5. What suggestions would you make to Dr. Barr now?


ANSWERS

1. The lack of formal system of in inventory system. Without the


inventory system, it is difficult to track all the tools and
equipment’s that are needed in the clinic.

2. The days where customers get packed and the schedule


that Dr. Ba set didn't connect. Maybe if Dr. Barr set the
schedule based on the days that customers are packed or
the demand were low, the schedule would've been worked.

3. She does have the clinic for curing the animals, particularly
cats and dogs, but it is completely unplanned. She didn't
think she'd need any more supplements or supplies for the
veterinary clinic. As a result that she has no records for her
inventory, difficulties have occurred that are difficult to solve,
such as the lack of a proper inventory management system.
The process of keeping track of the inventory, purchases,
orders, payments, and other parts of your health system's
business operations is called health care inventory
management.
- In order to meet legal standards, healthcare providers must
have an inventory management system in place to keep
track of medical supplies, order and administer prescriptions,
and sell health products to patients. By keeping an up-to-
date and accurate record of all of your things and supplies,
inventory management systems, which are employed in
large businesses, help to protect your company from both
monetary and product losses
4. Dr. Barr should have hire or consult a quality manager, so
she will be taught about organizing things and operating a
certain business properly while she enjoyed doing.

5. I would say it should always be flexible in response and


inventory management, and use predictive factors to avoid
such problems, use the other two factors of each business to
maximize profits , which means taking everything in hand or
justifying the office manager about these functions to deal
with these problems
