Part II: This is an extract of a report of an experiment. Rewrite it, putting the verbs in
the passive where appropriate and making any other necessary changes (2.4 points).

I conducted the test in the school library to minimize noise (1). I took the children out of
their normal lessons and tested them in groups of four (2). I carried out all the tests in
January 2016. The test consisted of two components (3). First, I showed the children a
design and I asked them to describe what they saw (4). I recorded all their answers. I then
gave them a set of anagrams (words with jumbled letters) (5) which I instructed them to
solve in as short a time as possible (6)…

You work as an assistant for the Sales Manager of Satex S.p.A.

Satex S.p.A is a big Italian manufacturer specializing in producing sweaters, jackets, jeans,
T-shirts and other kinds of garments for all age groups. Your products are sold to retailers
throughout Europe and America and your products are already available in England.
Your company has prepared a full catalog and regularly updated net price list to send to
your potential retailers
The usual allowance for trade discount in Italy is 15%.
In terms of payment methods, Satex S.p.A always deals on payment by sight draft, cash
against documents.
Your company can quote your products’ prices by F.O.B; CF or CIF to any places around
the world according to the importers’ enquiry.

Today, your company has received the following enquiry letter from a retailer in the United
Kingdom.

As an assistant, you are responsible for writing a reply letter on behalf of the Sales
manager.
