Wednesday Castles Men in the castles could use giant crossbows or cannons to fight
their enemies. They can also use light arrows on fire before
shooting them. Sometimes they used catapults to shoot fire balls.
Life in a castle would be difficult and dangerous too! Castles
were very important in the Middle Ages. Now, castles are just
place to visit and fun to learn about.

Friday Listen and wait Tsk, slide, tsk, slide. I hear the warning that rattlesnake is nearby.
I stay safe inside my burrow… Now the sun is slipping beyond
the hills. As the air cools down, I am finally ready to come out of
my burrow. Crunch, creep, creep. I carefully look for plants to
eat. The ground is dry under my feet. Screech, screech, screech! I
hear the distant call of a golden eagle. I quietly find my burrow…
And as the stars appear, I sleep.
