WEEK 4
Activity 4:
Do you agree or disagree in legalizing the use of Marijuana in our country? Why? Why
not?
As you might be aware, medical marijuana has the potential to treat a wide range of
illnesses. The use of the whole, unprocessed marijuana plant or its essential extracts to relieve
symptoms of disease and other disorders is referred to as medicinal marijuana. Scientists are now
using marijuana and its derivatives in preclinical and clinical trials to relieve signs of infection
and other disorders, such as: HIV, seizures, etc. Personally, I agree with it. Because of the health
benefits it has, I believe that using medical marijuana as a medicine that can help or treat patients
is a smart idea. The only issue is that some people abuse the drug and take it for granted.
However, the patient or individual who may use it should not misuse it and should only take the
recommended dose. It should not be available for purchase over the counter. And anyone with
signed prescriptions from a registered medical doctor should be sold it.

BOOK REVIEW

The Picture of Dorian Gray

Oscar Wilde

The book “The Picture of Dorian Gray" was my first choice because it piqued my
interest. Fortunately, my cousin has already read the book and raved about how amazing it is and
how it keeps you guessing. When I first picked up the book and read the title, I assumed it would
be about a man named Dorian and his portrait.

Dorian Gray was a handsome, wealthy man with lovely eyes. Basil was a talented artist
who created a portrait of Dorian Gray. Harry was a classmate of Basil's and Dorian's. When
Basil finished the portrait, it was so lovely that Dorian wished that his appearance would remain
the same and that the portrait would age with time. Dorian grew into an evil man over time,
killing Basil because he was the one who painted the portrait. Dorian improved dramatically
after that. Dorian ultimately chose to ruin the painting. His workers heard a man weeping in the
attic and entered to see a stunning painting and an elderly gentleman with wrinkles sitting on the
floor. I enjoyed the entire novel, but my favorite scene was when Dorian smashed the portrait,
and my least favorite scene was when Dorian killed Basil. Dorian Gray's character was
convincing and likeable to me because he had two personalities, which made him very
fascinating.

As I first read the book, I was in awe of the author because he had written such a fantastic
novel. It makes me mature with my thinking and makes me know that there are people who do
not value themselves or their lives. Some people wish to maintain their beauty and youth
indefinitely. They choose to be evil rather than taking a step in life to be mature enough and t
learn new things.
