CERTIFIED QUALITY FOR MORE
THAN 40 YEARS.
For more than 40 years, CAME has been specialising in the design,
industrialisation, and marketing of high-quality electromechanical
gearmotors for residential, commercial, and industrial automatic entrances.
CAME’s activities are organised around three divisions:
• Home - door and window automation systems, burglar alarm systems,
and integrated home automation systems.
• Work - burglar alarm solutions and automations for small and large
enterprises and commercial businesses.
• Car parks and access control - complete systems for managing car
parks and access control.
We at CAME are extremely proud of our Italian roots, but, at the same time,
we are driven by a strong propensity towards internationalisation.
Our headquarters are based in Dosson di Casier, in the province of
Treviso. However, we have a consolidated worldwide presence, thanks
to our 21 commercial companies and a extensive network of distributors.
Our six production plants in Italy, France, Spain, and Britain are bound to
commercial companies located in 118 countries. This way, we can meet
the global market’s requirements and challenges quickly and effectively,
providing tailor-made solutions for each market.

EN TESTED TECHNOLOGY
CAME is the first company in Europe to have developed the EN Tested
system, which sets new and higher safety standards for the product during
the design, production, final testing, and installation stages.
The EN Tested symbol identifies the automations tested in compliance with
European Directives concerning impact forces.

A TÜV-CERTIFIED PRODUCT
CAME S.p.A.’s integrated management system complies with the
international UNI EN ISO 9001, UNI EN ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001
standards. Moreover, it ensures the conformity of the company’s quality
processes, and compliance with environmental and occupational health
and safety regulations.

All automations are

tested in compliance
with European Directives
concerning impact
forces.

Introduction
Purpose of the use and maintenance manual
This manual has been drawn up in compliance with the UNI EN 12635 standard. It provides the end-users with information
regarding the automation, as well as all the use and maintenance instructions to allow you to use the system in the best
way possible, maintaining its efficiency over time. This booklet is an integral part of the product. It must be stored carefully
and updated after every maintenance operation.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The machine’s components must be used only for the purpose for which they have been expressly designed. Any other
use must be considered improper and, therefore, dangerous. CAME will not be held liable for any damage resulting from
improper, incorrect and unreasonable use or maintenance deficiencies. Keep away from the hinges or moving mechanical
parts. Do not enter the operating area when the automation is moving. Do not counter the operator's movement
as it could be dangerous. Always pay special attention to the dangerous points labelled with specific pictograms and/or
black and yellow stripes.

Use and maintenance manual - Automatic road barriers

The barrier may move at any time without prior warning if it is controlled remotely or automatic
closure is activated. If the barrier is for vehicle use only, you must use the pedestrian passage in the immediate vicinity
of the operator. Clearly visible signs must be displayed to indicate that it is prohibited for pedestrians to cross the vehicle
passage.
For barriers used for both vehicles and pedestrians, always take care when transiting through the passage. Cross
the passage when the operator is stationary, the boom is in the fully open position, and as far away as possible
from the rotating fulcrum of the boom. When using a hold-to-run control, keep checking that nobody is within the
operating range of the moving parts, until the control is released. Make sure that the operator’s movement does
not cause anything to be trapped between it and surrounding fixed parts, keeping the areas near the operator free
from obstructions. This appliance can be used by children over 8 years of age, by people with physical or cognitive
disabilities, by people lacking experience or knowledge of the device, as long as they are supervised or have been
informed about how to use the device safely and about its risks • Children must not play with the appliance or its
controls, including the transmitters.

CORRECT OPERATING MODE

The operator must run under the conditions checked during the functional test carried out by the installer
in the presence of the end user. It is forbidden to tamper with the settings. Stop using the operator immediately in the
presence of a malfunction or structural damage and contact the technical support service.

☐ PERIODIC CHECKS TO BE CARRIED OUT BY THE USER (at least every six months)
The user must periodically check or have someone check the correct operation of the safety devices and make
sure that the glass surface of the photocells is clean. This is the only operation to be carried out while the operator is
powered. To check the photocells’ efficiency, remain outside the movement area and give the start command. Move an
object in front of the photocells when the operator is moving and check whether it is working correctly as indicated in the
paragraph: “MACHINE CONFIGURATION”.

Before carrying out any cleaning operation, shut off the mains power and remain outside the operating range of the barrier.
If the device is provided with backup batteries, unlock the device as specified in the paragraph: “Unlocking the operators”.
Make sure to carry out these operations safely.
Periodically check the installation to detect any malfunction, wear, or damage to the operator’s fixed and moving parts.
Stop using the operator immediately in the presence of a malfunction or structural damage and contact our technical
support service. If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorised technical
support service or, in any case, by a suitably qualified professional, to avoid any risks.

Do not access the protected internal parts. At least once every 6 months, carry out simple standard maintenance
work. Always carry out this operation outside the barrier’s operating area.
A - Clean the photocell glass using a cloth slightly dampened with water. Do not use
solvents or other chemical products.
B - Check that the photocells work properly by putting an object in between them while
in motion. If the manoeuvre inverts or stops, the photocells are working properly.
C - Check that there is nothing preventing the operator from functioning correctly, such
as overgrown vegetation in the area in which the photocells operate or any structural
changes/yielding in the barrier.
In the event of any repairs or modifications made to the system etc., please contact a
qualified professional and keep a record of the work performed.
