About Us
The Black Jaguar-White Tiger Foundation is a non-profit organisation and it is about changing people s attitudes and
perceptions about all animals. It is rooted in the belief that education can start a revolution; a revolution about love and
respect for all living beings.

Who Are We?

The Foundation was inspired by a single unexpected act of love, and a whole lot of trust and magic.
Eduardo Serio, a Mexican- born businessman who was residing in Los Angeles, went on a business trip to Mexico, in
2013. While there, he received a call from his cousin, an animal expert with over 25 years of experience, who shared
his frustration that a pet store was selling a baby Black Jaguar with the purpose of having it pose for photographs
against its will and then using the money earned as a source of income.
Eduardo jumped at this opportunity and rescued Cielo from a life of captivity, leaving his whole life in L.A. behind.
That single event gave birth to what today is The Black Jaguar-White Tiger Foundation .
Currently, with the help of devoted friends and millions of loyal followers around the world , the Foundation has
rescued and cares for over 210 (and counting) big felines and more from an unhappy life in circuses, zoos and
breeders, both legal and illegal. The Foundation has also rescued more than 20 street dogs.
The Foundation also has a project with the Mexican Government to reproduce, reintroduce and repopulate
endangered species of birds, endemic to Mexico, into their natural habitat.
Their Mission has four main purposes:
1 To rescue many animals in need from sad circumstances such as circuses, breeding facilities and from people that
have them as pets, providing them with a home, the best food and medical care available and a life of dignity and
love for the rest of their lives.
2 To raise awareness worldwide through pictures, videos, using social media platforms and by giving conferences.
To make the millions of people that follow them , fall in love with the rescued animals, so that as a consequence
they learn to fall in love with their planet.
3 To continue working hand in hand with the Mexican Government , to keep changing laws in order to protect all
species of animals in Mexico and inspire all countries around the world to join in .
4 As with the endangered bird project ( reproduction and reintroduction into the wild ), to work with the Mexican
Government to start the same programme with feline species native to Mexico, like Jaguars, Ocelots and Oncillas.
There is the belief that in a couple of years , with all the support and awareness being raised , that the lost lion , tig r
and leopard habitats in Africa and Asia will be regained , and perhaps help increase the numbers of these species
^

Philosophy
To eventually release the animals, that have been cared for, into the wild from where they came and this option
will impact upon our breeding programme . We have found that since the animals were born and curientlv Ii \ e
in captivity, they are happier in larger groups, regardless of the species. So there are prides that go from three
individuals up to sixteen , and certain groups have members of different species but they nonetheless love and respt.
each other and live together harmoniously and it is this balance that we do not want to threaten .
