ARMOIRE/ WARDROBE

- This is an armoires, also known

as wardrobes. It is a standalone
closet used for storing clothes by
hanging and/or layering.

FIGURE 1.1

The wardrobe from our bedroom has the

dimensions of (1.66m x 1.25m) that can keep
various clothes depending on the likings of the
person occupying the said furniture.

It has four layers, each of which has (0.36mx

FIGURE 1.2

1.15m) in depth. The size may differ from the

standard depth of Armoires (1.52mx 1.52m)
because it is customized built-in storage to
save up some space. Considering the topic of ergonomics, the
size of this Armoire is being compared to
the owner's height, as seen in figure 1.3.
The furniture has (1.66m) in-depth, and
the owner is (1.58m) or 5ft 2 inches tall.
There is little to no doubt that the
posture of the owner would not be
affected by it. In addition, due to its
customized depth, possible conflicts
from using it, such as the struggle of
FIGURE 1.3
grabbing and fixing, were not evident.
OFFICE TABLE/ DESK

The drawing shown in

figure 2.1 is an office desk.
It has a dimension of
(0.72m x 1.03m). The size
encompasses the
standards of a typical
working desk (0.71m-
0.76m) for height and
(0.76m - 1.52m). FIGURE 2.1

In addition to this, I included the space

from the doorway to the actual desk.
The (0.66m) narrow and (0.60m)
diagonal space is slightly smaller than
the standard clearance from a door to a
piece of furniture which is (0.76m).
However, people can still pass through
it without any disturbance.

FIGURE 2.2

In ergonomics, people need to have a

leg, knees, thigh, and feet clearance
for working. It is to ease the tension
and give comfort to them.

In addition, 15-30 mins of standing

while working at a desk can help the
posture while using the space. It can
also increase blood circulation and
prevent heart diseases. FIGURE 2.3
BUNK BED/ DOUBLE DECK
This specific bunk bed has two different sizes of bed frames.
The lower deck has a double-size bed, and the upper has a BED FRAME:
twin-size one.
-The latter, as shown in figure 3.1 has the
dimensions of (0.11m x 0.92m) with the length of
(1.97m). Comparing it to the standard size of a
usual bed frame which is (0.82m x 1.06m).

On the other hand, the former is consists of

(0.42m x 1.33m) and the (1.94m) as its length
Comparing its depth to (0.91m) which, is the
standard size of a bed frame from the ground.
The difference between both bed frames is
evident in the fact that the bed frame was not
FIGURE 3.1 built, in line with the standard size.

MATTRESS:
As per the bed, illustrated above, the lower deck has a
double-size bed. This bed has dimensions of (1.24m x
1.85m) with a thickness of (0.15m). It is a bit smaller than
the usual size of a double bed, that is (1.37m x 1.90m)
with a thickness of (0.22m).

Although, the average height of a person occupying the

space ranges (1.61m - 1.67m). By this dimension, the
person can have enough leg clearance and sleep
comfortably within the given space.
Moving to the upper deck, it contains a twin bed with a
dimension of (1.97m x 0.92m) and a thickness of (0.12m).
This size is almost the same as the standard of a twin
bed; (1.91m x .97m). The manufacturers may be the
FIGURE 3.2

reason for the slight differences.

CLEARANCE:
The usual clearance of a bunk bed from the
mattress to the upper deck should be (0.83m).
In comparison with the standard dimension
3.3 ERUGIF

and the presented bed. The upper and lower

deck have (0.94 and 0.93) clearance. Because
of this, the person occupying the beds can
freely move within the space.
