As many of
you missed
the Annual
Dinner, here is what a reprint of my
speech…
I hope everyone is having a great time
tonight and enjoying the food and
the beautiful Championship
clubhouse. I would like to start out by
thanking the WONDERFUL staff at
the Chamber. Your hard work and
dedication is truly appreciated by all
of us.

President. I would also like to thank
my Florida Bank Team for their
support with the Chamber activities
while still doing the day to day

I am very excited to be your new
Chamber President and would like to
thank the board for putting their faith
in me for the position. We have a very
exciting year planned and I am
looking forward to a year with more
member involvement so I will be
soliciting ideas from all of you going

followed by the announcement of
our 2010 award winners. Our first
award, the Jeff Jenkins
Community Service Award is
given annually by the Ponte
Vedra Beach Chamber of
Commerce to a community
member that goes above and
beyond in their service to this
community. Jeff Jenkins was City
President of Prosperity Bank and
tragically died in 2001 while trying
to save his two daughters from
drowning. Our 2010 recipient is
Ginny Simpson who was honored

planned...To kick off the month of
April. We are introducing the launch
of the redesign of our website which
will be loaded with new capabilities.
The launch will take place at our April
quarterly luncheon hosted by Florida
Bank. Currently, we have 38,000
average page views per month on
our website and are looking for ways
to increase that. The popularity of our
website is growing and has become
a very valuable tool.
Another exciting event in April is the
CAR SHOW. The Car Show has
moved it’s location to the Sawgrass
TPC grounds from Nocatee. The new
location has elevated the event to
premier status. Our presenting
sponsor is Brumos Porsche. We are
receiving loads of positive comments
about our new location and I am sure
we will attract new visitors to the
event.
Paws after Hours will be held at
Pusser’s in April. Bring your pets and
enjoy appetizers and drinks on the
deck. We have a very exciting
Monthly After Hours planned for April.
The event will be held at the TPC
grounds to kick off the upcoming
Player’s Championship Tournament in
May. As you can see we have a
packed schedule for the month of
April and I hope everyone here to-
night will come out and help support
the events.
There are many more events planned
throughout the remainder of the year.
For example: Our Grand Premier
event this year is our four day Wine
Festival to be held in September. We
for her seven years plus
dedication to taking Bird Island
Park from a dream to a reality.
She also won the award in 2004
when the project began so it is
only fitting that she is honored
again as the park was dedicated
this past fall.
Our Ambassadors support the
Chamber in a number of different
ways throughout the year. The
role they play is important and
their contribution to the growth
and development of the Chamber
and this community is critical. This
award is named after Grace
Hayes, former Editor of the Ponte
Vedra Recorder, who passed
away. She was one of the best
Ambassadors this Chamber ever
had and this award was named in
her honor to recognize her
contribution to the growth and
are very excited about this year’s
event and we are going all out to
ensure you have an amazing time.
We have secured internationally,
nationally and locally known judges
to judge and select the wines that will
be presented for the tastings and
purchasing. The event will kick off on
a Thursday with wine dinners located
at four different locations throughout
the beaches area. Friday there will be
liquor, beer and wine tastings. On
Saturday and Sunday, wine and
gourmet food will be sampled and
you can purchase wine. We have
selected BEAM as our Charity partner
for this year’s event.
This is a just sample of some of our
events for 2011. As you can see, it is
a really exciting year full of events.
Participation and support from the
members is imperative to make this
years events successful.
Our Chamber is off to a good start for
2011 with total membership up by
10% over the past year., while many
other chambers have seen a decline
in members. We really want to build
on that strength in numbers. In May,
we will have a “Pay It Forward”
campaign. During the campaign, you
will be asked to identify five potential
new Chamber members by sending
an email inviting your business
associates that may benefit from
Chamber membership to join the
Ponte Vedra the Chamber. Our goal
is to add 30 new members from the
campaign.. Thank you from coming
and see you at our next event.
